  1. February already... I just started reading Ben Aaronovitch's Lies Sleeping (Rivers of London #7)
  2. Finished the first series of Clone Wars on Disney+, though I won’t be starting anymore for a while, as the whole of Series 1 was rather dull and repetitive. Definitely a curate’s egg, as most of the Disney Star Wars have made (apart from The Mandolorian, which have been spectacular!)
  3. Sorry that it’s the end of January already, but thank everyone, and I hope you all have a good 2021, and happy reading.
  4. Wow, it’s the first time I’ve used the Forum in January 2021, on the last day of the month . Reading mojo is excellent at the moment, but the sociability mojo is non existent! Reading The Girl in The Tower (Winternight Trilogy #2) by Katherine Arden, read 78% so far, and I am enjoying it.
  5. Hello and to the BCF! Sorry to hear that BGO is closing, but hope you all enjoy it here instead.
  6. Watching the animation Star Wars, Clone Wars, episode 1-4 so far. Since I have only seen the original 3 Star Wars films, I need to find the plots and characters in the prequels. But have watched 1 & 2 recently, they have been such dreadful films. The scripts are excruciating painful to listen to, and the acting by Hayden Christens as Anikin Skywalker is...well, words fail me, but it’s so bad acting. So the Clone Wars animation is slightly better!
  7. Happy New Year for 2021 everyone! Currently reading The Masked City (The Invisible Library #2) by Genevie Cogman. 43%.
  8. My Audible use for 2020 138 hours, and the most listened month was in February. Reading stats for 2020 117 books, with 22,689 pages read.
  9. I’m looking forward to reading this weekend, as now the festive season is over, as things should be slightly normal. Happy New Year to everyone!
  10. . I think I’ll avoid it and just keep on with Chronicles of St Mary’s/Time Police
  11. Finished reading Jodi Taylor The Nothing Girl (Frogmorton Farm #1). And I loathed this bl***y book! Full of characters who had totally chaotic lives, and the plot went more ridiculous as it went on. I love her Chronicles of St Mary’s series, even with it’s madcap plots, but The Nothing Girl really raised my hackles! . And it wasn’t because there was an imaginary horse, as I could believe in, but the human characters and their lives was so unbelievable.
  12. An afternoon watching Cary Grant films on BBC 2, with To Catch a Thief followed by North by Northwest.
  13. Well Storm Bella was a very wet and windy one let night! Not too bad, as there was no damaged trees etc. locally, but it was pretty scary. This morning it’s full sun and not even a breeze now. EDIT Have a yellow weather warning for snow tonight and early morning. Never a dull moment at the mo.
  14. Ah, I've seen it now, so it will be another year to wait.
  15. I see the sun again! But bitterly cold, and the forecast overnight could be around -2 Celsius, so we could have a white-ish Christmas Day.
  16. High Society is one of my favourites . And a handful of Studio Ghibli to rewatch.
  17. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, or just an enjoyable festive season. Be safe.
  18. Well, I usually watch until the ends of true credits, to see the concept paintings and to listen to the music, but this time I didn’t watch it that carefully. What did I miss?
  19. Ooh, Hayley, that's a lovely writing desk!! 😍
  20. My total for proper books (minus the manga/graphic novels) and audiobooks so far in 2020 is 27, which is less than I expected, since I've done very little than this year, apart from reading/listening books. . But thankfully, most of these have been a real joy
  21. The last episodes of The Mandolorian. Well, that last one was spectacular, especially the jaw dropping WOW moment!!
  22. Finished Ben Aaronovitch’s The Hanging Tree (Rivers of London #6). Another good read. After a string of Aaronovitch’s books, this is the time for another author, though with still the fantasy theme, so it will be The Masked City (The Invisible Library #2) by Genevieve Cogman.
  23. 4 episodes today, and in The Jedi we now know the name of The Child!! I won’t do a spoiler, just to say “who the flip thought up the name for The Child... Methinks I will still refer The Child as Baby Yoda. Though I think I might use it if/when I feel a little under the weather, during the festive season....
