    Hello!

Thanks . Greek mythology is a particular favourite of mine, but I am interested in other mythologies as well . Though history was never my best subject in school, I do find mythology of multiple-gods religions (ie. Egyptians, Greeks, Romans) quite interesting. P.S. I like your avatar .
  4. Wow Kylie, that sounds like a difficult task moving so many books! Well done on donating some books you have no interest in (anymore). Good luck with the move, I hope everything goes well . Will your books be able to come out of storage after you've settled into your new home?
  5. Can you believe it's December already?! Sometimes time seems to go by quick. I'm enjoying a quiet day today, towards the weekend it will be busier (shopping and family time). Our Christmas tree is up and the house looks festive. Today it's 5 December, which is Sinterklaas in the Netherlands. We don't celebrate it anymore, but in honour of it I am planning on reading a Sinterklaas-themed children's book later. What's up with you in December?
  6. I'm currently reading Snow in Love: Four Stories by Melissa de la Cruz, Nic Stone, Aimee Friedman and Kasie West. Today it's 5 December, which is Sinterklaas in the Netherlands. We don't celebrate it anymore, but in honour of it I am planning on reading a Sinterklaas-themed children's book later after I finish reading the first short story in Snow in Love. I hope you enjoy your mystery and your Christmas themed book .

    Hi :)

I really liked The Hate U Give! Such an impressive and important book. I hope you like the whole book .

    Hello!

Thank you! Athena is not my actual name. My actual name is Gaia, which is also from Greek mythology. Gaia is often not available as a name online (often already taken), so I picked Athena as a nickname . I do like mythology!
  9. Those sound great! I hope you like it ! I've read a few (5?) Christmas stories by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol being my favourite. I didn't get on so well with the other 4, but it might just have been me, I figured out classics aren't really my thing. I hope you both enjoy your books ! I'm reading some wintery/Christmassy books this week, though I don't know yet how far with those I'll be when I start our read-a-thon in the weekend. I love all these festive emoticons .
  10. Great reviews! You didn't like 168 hours much but I really liked reading your review of it . Your analysis makes a lot of sense to me. I wouldn't want to pre-schedule every minute of all my time either.
  11. We put up our tree and decorations a few days ago (on Sunday). The place looks more festive now .

    Hello!

    Welcome here !
  13. chapters ending in the middle of a sentence, that would really bother me!
  14. That sounds awesome ! I hope you enjoy it ! I'm doing Tistheseason-a-thon on 3-5 December on BookTube (YouTube) (it runs from 3 - 9 Dec, so it coincides with our read-a-thon). Then from Dec 6 - 9 I'll do our read-a-thon. I'm thinking of reading a few holiday/wintery themed reads too, I know I have a Christmassy Stilton book that I could re-read. I think I shall browse my shelves later this week and see what reads I can find . I'll be reading some graphic novels too but I think most of those are not wintery/holiday-y. Happy you two (Marie and Karen) are participating !
  15. I think I might decide this upcoming week, so maybe in a couple of days or so. I look forward to hear what you've decided to read .
  16. Me too, I really like the cover art . And it makes even more sense when one has read the book .
  17. Thanks @Hayley ! I like Chris Riddell too, his illustrations are beautiful.
  18. Hayley is correct, it's the weekend of 7, 8 and 9 December. Sorry, you have to wait a bit longer, Karen . That weekend works well for me, as that whole week (3 - 9 December), I'm planning to try to participate in Tistheseason-a-thon on BookTube, and that way I get to do my BCF read-a-thon the last few days. I don't know yet which graphic novels I'm planning to read for our read-a-thon, I've finished off all my manga series I was reading, but I have some still on my TBR so I'll be picking from those. I'm going to decide closer to the event to see what I feel in the mood for (and also what fits the challenges of Tistheseason-a-thon). Good to be back at its original home !
  19. I finished Counting by 7s, which was nice. I liked the racial representation, the main character has dark skin and 3 side characters are (half) Vietnamese. I thought the main character Willow might have been a bit too quircky and too much of a genius, but I did enjoy reading about her. Overall I enjoyed this read . I also read The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. This is a middle-grade fantasy story, and I loved it. It was so magical, with great characters, a nice plot, and it was funny too. I really liked the writing as well. Reviews for these books will be up next week. Reviews posted in the past few weeks: Solitaire by Alice Oseman, Heartstopper by Alice Oseman Het Idee M/V by Asha ten Broeke (a discussion on the ideas of men and women, and on gender norms) (Note: linking them like that instead of as a video, because it makes my screen bigger if I do that. I don't mind, but I don't know how it will affect mobile devices so I thought it'd be better to link them like this rather than as a video).
