x Awww . I hope it gets all resolved in the end.

Good luck with your aim ! And that sounds like a good idea, I hope you get the apartment .

x Congrats on your new books ! I haven't yet read Animal Farm but I've heard good things about it.
-
I'm glad most of your reads were really enjoyable ! I hadn't heard of 'raspberry awards' before, that's nice!

x It's a bit of both. Jonathan Creek and his partner try and solve mysterious cases that seem impossible at first glance. It has British humour and it's not just about the cases, there's backstory involved and scenes about the characters (the main ones but also side characters that might be involved in the case). Jonathan Creek works for a magician thinking up his tricks. Personally I preferred the older episodes and specials over the two newest specials, the last two seemed a bit complicated. It should be shown now and then on British TV, though I don't remember which TV station I first saw it on when I was on holidays in the UK.

Fantasy? Or is it more contemporary fiction?
-
x Good luck! And !

Is it fiction or non-fiction?

That sounds great! I look forward to seeing it at some point (it's not out here yet in cinemas as far as I know). I'm glad you liked it . I understand about overhyping though, that can ruin things sometimes.

Today marks my one year anniversary here at BCF. In that time I've made a lot of new friends , read a lot of interesting posts, made 3570 posts (when I'm writing this) and overall had a really good time being here on the forum. I just want to thank you all who've been so welcoming and kind to me. I love being on this forum reading and chattering on about books and other things. I'm so very glad I found this forum, I feel like I belong here, with all our TBRs, book reviews, book buying etc. So here's to you all for being such great kind friends and so wonderful to 'talk' with. I love the way the forum is set up, our individual threads, I love the forum software, the emoticons, I love everything about this place . So thank you all for making my first year here brilliant and hopefully it's the first of many yet to come.

I've read more pages of Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson - The Wheel of Time 14: A Memory of Light and am really enjoying it. It just took a bit of getting into it, because I couldn't remember what exactly happened in the last book. I could've looked it up but it's coming back to me as I'm reading this book so I think I'll be allright. I'm really enjoying reading about the characters and what's going to happen. I love this world, it's so interesting. I've also received two books I ordered in 2013, Alan Bennett - The Uncommon Reader and Holly Smale - Geek Girl 1: Geek Girl, the latter of which has the same font as my copy of Mark Haddon - The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has, so this is an instant plus as it reminds me of that book (I really enjoyed it).

It sounds great to me too, I'll have to look it up some time. I hope you enjoy it .

I hope you enjoy Replay, Kay! A lot of us have really enjoyed the book so I hope you will too, and of course, all the other books too .

Nice review! I'm unsure if I read this book when I was a child or not, I might have but I'm not sure. I like the film that I've seen of it, it sounds like it'd be a great read. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it .

Congrats on already completing a country! I hope you enjoy all your new Kindle reads .

I've never heard of the author but those covers are gorgeous!

This sounds interesting! I'm glad you enjoyed it .

Have you read the Foundation books before? I have them on my TBR (in paperback of course ) but I didn't want to start a new series yet. Those editions look beautiful!
-
That's still a while! Good luck, I hope it's all done sooner rather than later.

I had to remove some emoticons. x I loved the graveyard scene! I thought it was excellent. Thanks ! x x Awww I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it so much. I didn't like it much when I read it the first time around, so I guess I can kind of see where you're coming from. x x I haven't read anything by Simon Kernick before, sorry . I hope you like Relentless though . x x Thanks ! I find Harry Potter, upon re-reading, reads quite fast and it's easy to understand. So it works for me to read it during the read-a-thon. x x That's good to hear, that you liked the book(s) by Kernick. Thanks . I hope you'll read and enjoy the whole series some day, at the very least to try out the first one and see how it goes. I find I do have to be in a certain mood for it but I quite enjoy reading the books. I hope you enjoy them, and if not I suppose you could give the set away to charity or someone else.

x Nice ! And @ the review comments from Amazon. I hope your next read will be more enjoyable, Steve.

I hope 2014 will be a good reading year for you !

Yesterday I watched the last Jonathan Creek special, The Clue of the Savant's Thumb. I liked it but there was a bit too much going on I thought, and I'm not quite clear of the motive. It was entertaining to watch though but a bit confusing. What have you watched recently?

It sounds interesting, but I don't think I've heard of it. That said, I have read The Fault in Our Stars last year and didn't recognise the quote so maybe it doesn't mean anything that I don't recognise it.
