After a couple of days of no internet and some phone calls and emails later, all seems to be working again :)!

  2. Congrats on the new books! Great covers too. I haven't heard of the Robin Hobb title, is it a new one? That's exciting . I must look both of them up at some point!
  3. Kay, you're reading a lot lately! Great review!
  4. This book is on my wishlist, though I don't know if it'll stay there since I haven't actually read anything by Virginia Woolf yet . Great review though !
  5. x Congrats on all the books !
  6. Is the author male?
  7. Hey Julie, yes several of the books are part of series (I just need to collect them all ). Just books for sale at the book fair I'm afraid. I've never actually talked to an author or heard any lectures, these kinds of things don't happen a lot here I'm afraid, and when they do it's bound to be really crowded I think.
  8. A few days ago, due to noise from builders I had to leave the house and went out shopping. I bought some other things, but I also bought some books(oops )! I discovered a nice new book shop that was amazing and bought some second-hand books there. L. E. Modesitt Jr. - Corean Chronicles 1: Legacies L. E. Modesitt Jr. - Corean Chronicles 2: Darknesses L. E. Modesitt Jr. - The Saga of Recluce 9: Colors of Chaos L. E. Modesitt Jr. - The Saga of Recluce 10: Magi'i of Cyador L. E. Modesitt Jr. - The Saga of Recluce 11: Scion of Cyador L. E. I've agreed with myself to not buy any more books until I go to the book fair next month (I'm really looking forward to it) and to not buy many other books the rest of the month of February either.
  9. Is it science-fiction? Or fantasy?
  10. The Player of Games so far. I rated the other books 8/10 I believe, and that one a 9/10. I don't know why exactly but the story just resonated for me I suppose.
  11. Yay for new books ! Congrats on completing the collection . Great review of the book . P.S. As a fan I hope the Wheel of Time series or one of its books wins the Hugo Award.
  12. I hope your next read will be better !
  13. Congrats on your new books! I also find it annoying that the book itself doesn't tell you it's part of a series. Ideally I'd have this information on the spine of the book, or at least on the back or the inside of the book. I've come home often with a book that I didn't realise was part X of a series. Sorry to hear the free book wasn't your thing. One to avoid, then! I hope your next read will be better .
  14. A new book ! It's on my wishlist so I look forward to hear what you think .

  19. Great that you got the money off from Amazon! I hope you enjoy your new books . Great review too, btw . Shame you didn't enjoy it more.
  20. Congrats on the newly borrowed books! I hope you enjoy them ! Quiet is on my wishlist so I look forward to hear what you think. Dune I really liked, so I look forward to hear what you think, once you have all three parts. My book is an old paperback copy, I had no idea they'd split it up in Finnish!
  21. x That's good to know . x x Yay for more books !
  22. Nice review! It sounds like a book I'd enjoy (really need to work on getting my wishlist in order..).
  23. Congrats on the new books, I hope you enjoy them !
  24. x I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it . Great review of The Secret Life of Bees! The book is on my wishlist, I'm glad you enjoyed it .
  25. Great review, Tim! Shame you didn't enjoy it as much as I did. I really liked The Player of Games. I do agree though, the books throw you in at the deep end. They aren't big books but there's a lot written that needs thought. So far I've read the first four Culture books and Against a Dark Background.
