Wow, you read a lot! Yesterday, I read 122 pages of 'The Keeper of Lost Things' by Ruth Hogan and today, I've just finished reading the last 72 pages of this book. I'm not sure what I'm going to read next. I'm off out to lunch in a while, so will decide when I get back.
How was the book, did you like it? I hope you found something else nice to read
.

Thank you! Are you liking the short stories?
My reading progress for yesterday:
David Small - Stitches (227 pages, finishing it)
Gene Luen Yang - Level Up (160 pages)
Ngozi Uhazu - Check, Please! Book 1: #Hockey (277 pages)

No, I've decided not to. I read 10 graphic works for the read-a-thon (Thu, Fri, Sat Sun), and I think it's good like that. I started on Thursday, I wasn't sure if I would, beforehand, but today (Monday) I've got some things to do so I'm okay stopping my read-a-thon reading until next time.
The July read-a-thon will take place on Fri-Sat-Sun the 5th, 6th and 7th of July.
As a future note, I won't be able to participate in the October read-a-thon unless we move it to a week later. But we can talk about that in September.

I'm reading 'The Keeper of Lost Things' by Ruth Hogan as a buddy read with my friend, so I'm hoping to read some of that during the read-a-thon.
I hope you're enjoying this one

I hope you have fun reading whichever option you decide on
!
EDIT: I've just realised that next Monday (the 10th) is a bank holiday here (Pentecost), so I might extend my read-a-thon reading to Monday. I'll see how I feel in the weekend

I'm also looking forward to Heartstopper Vol. 2 by Alice Oseman, which is an LGBTQ+ graphic novel due out in early July.
I'm looking forward to Heartstopper Volume 2 too
!!

I hope you'll enjoy this

Hi everyone!
I thought I'd make a topic and see if there are any books coming out in the remainder of 2019 that you're really excited for? Alternatively, what are some books you're hoping to get around to before the year is over? I'd love to know :).
As for myself, for me personally, the #1 release I'm excited for, is Ik zie er zo normaal uit by Elise Cordaro. This is a Dutch memoir, of the author living with autism and ADHD. I don't know much about this book and haven't been able to find a lot about it, and yet I really want to read it so I have it pre-ordered. The pre-order date actually got moved back from June to September, according to the Dutch webshop I've pre-ordered it on. Anyway, this is personally a book I'm looking forward to reading, because I hope I'll find a lot to relate to (since I am autistic and have ADD (no H)).Other than that though, there are plenty of other book releases I'm excited for (new releases as well as some books being out in medium size paperback but previously being published in hardcover and as e-book, and a couple of e-books too).
I got quite a few books I'm hoping to read the rest of the year, but for some I'm just wiating for the right mood (because I'm such a mood reader).

18th - Can you keep a secret? by Sophie Kinsella.
This was my one-day reading, fast, amusing and not really momorable. But I've enjoyed it, it raised my spirits for a bit and I even giggled couple of times.
I enjoyed this one too

Paper Towns by John Green. Two stars. I really wish I liked this one. I read TFIOS a couple of years a go because I was curious to all the fuss, and loved it.
I did like some parts of the books, in particular part 3. However, I wasn't very enthralled with the rest. The main character was good. I liked him for the most part and his friends for the most part. I'll probably try another John Green book sometime in the future.
I much prefer TFIOS over Paper Towns too.
1 hour ago, Lau_Lou said:The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson. I must have had this author on my tbr for one of the longest times. I loved every page of this book. It was very cleverly done, as we follow two girls and their past. The twist at the end was great, I cannot believe I didn't see it coming. But I suppose that is a good thing. Would highly recommend but with a warning because of the subject matter. Five stars.
I've read two other books by this author and liked them. I'm glad you really liked The Ice Cream Girls, I have that one on my TBR
.
I'm still reading The Naked God, which I'll put down over the weekend to read my read-a-thon pile of graphic novels & manga, then I'll continue with it next week (while also reading another book next week).

Nintendo did a Nintendo Direct today, giving a bit more information about Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield, including a release date. It will be released on November 15th (worldwide). I'm excited to play it!

A few reviews of some of my library loans. More reviews to come, I have already finished all of the library loans, but I don't want to upload too many videos in one time, so I'm doing one every couple of days (but I don't update this thread as often as I should!)
Stuart Gibbs - Spy School 1 & 2: Spy School & Spy Camp. I really liked reading these books. I've already read books 3, 4 and 5 in the series, so I knew a few things already. I still really enjoyed reading the beginning of this series.
Liane Holliday Willey - Handboek voor Asperger Vrouwen (Safety Skills for Asperger Women). A disappointing read. I didn't get much out of this. Most things either were things I already knew, or didn't apply much to me. The Dutch title is way more generic ('guidebook') than the English one, and created therefore the wrong expectations from me. The English title makes a lot more sense.
Marije van Dongen - Dramaqueen of gewoon autisme?. This book came recommended to me by my support worker / therapist. I enjoyed reading this memoir.
Francine Oomen - Oomen stroomt over. A graphic memoir about a women's time during menopause. I've read a number of children's & YA books by this author, so when I saw she had written something autobiographical rather than fiction, I was curious. I really enjoyed this graphic memoir.
6 Stilton library loans:
Thea Stilton - Prinsessen van Wonderrijk 2: De Droombewaker (Le Guardiane dei Sogni)
Geronimo Stilton - Geronimo Stilton 73: Ridder voor een Dag (Cavaliere per un Giorno)
Geronimo Stilton, Frances Hodgson Burnett - De Kleine Prinses (La Piccola Principessa)
Geronimo Stilton - Reis Door De Tijd 8 (Viaggio Nel Tempo 8)
Thea Stilton - De Zeven Rosen 5: De Verdwenen Prinses (Il Segreto delle Fate dei Fiori)
Geronimo Stilton - Fantasia 12: Fantasia XII: Het Vlammenravijn (Regno Della Fantasia 12: Il Grande Segreto)The last four were quite enjoyable, the first two were a bit disappointing.

I've been re-reading The Naked God, book 3 in the Night's Dawn trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton. I've really been enjoying my re-read. I did read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo at the same time as The Naked God, but I finished the former a few days ago (it was really good!).

The BCF June Read-a-thon is this upcoming weekend. I look forward to reading my usual pile of manga and graphic novels and graphic memoirs (in May I didn't do this and instead went to my library, which I really enjoyed, but I'm looking forward this month to get back to my manga & graphic works).
Is anyone planning on doing some reading this upcoming weekend?
