  1. This sounds really good! I've added it to my wishlist, so I can take a closer look at it when I have a bit more time.
  2. We've been having fireworks set off almost every day for the past month or so. It will get increasingly bad towards New Year's Eve. It really scares my dog (and me!), particularly when she's in the garden. On my dog walk with her, we regularly find the remains of the fireworks. There have been fireworks in the afternoon, often the evening, one time even at 9:00 in the morning. I think a large portion of them are set off by teenagers who go to the nearby school here. I've seen them do it, usually pretty nearby my house. In the Netherlands, setting off fireworks is only legal on New Year's Eve, from 18:00 to 2:00. The rest of the year, it is forbidden. Sales of fireworks are only allowed on the 29th, 30th and 31rst of December. If one of those days is a Sunday, firework sales start on the 28th of December. It really makes me so upset, that there are so many fireworks going off, scaring my dog (as well as other pets around here). I'm sure it scares my chicken too, though they don't show it as much. @Onion Budgie Good luck with the roof!! It has been rainy and overcast here. The bakery (where I live) leaks when there is heavy rain. There hasn't been much sunshine and it's got quite cold.
  3. I think I do most of my reading at my computer desk and on my sofa. I sometimes also read in my library room (where most of my books are), by the front door (if I'm waiting for a package), in bed, in other places.
  4. Well done ! I really like most of Peter F. Hamilton's books I've read, he's one of my favourite science-fiction authors. Judas Unchained is a re-read for me, so I knew it would be good, I knew I'd probably enjoy my re-read, as long as I'm in the mood for it . I hope you had fun with your mum ! The December read-a-thon will take place 6, 7 and 8 December. I'll be busy for some of that weekend, but should be able to do a bit of reading during at least some of the time that I'm not busy.
  5. It's a shame you didn't like it a lot. I've heard really good things from a couple of other people.Well done on all your reading though! Yesterday/Sunday I read from page 977 to page 1069 of Judas Unchained (92 pages). Not as good progress as on Saturday, but I'm still pretty pleased. The end is in sight for this book!
  6. Love and First Sight by Josh Sundquist
  7. Well done! Did you enjoy The Woman in Black? Good luck reading the three short stories . 1235! I have the mass market paperback edition. I've been reading it since the beginning of October, so I feel it's about time I'll finish it in a while! And then move on to something a lot shorter.
  8. ! I hope you won't see anyone suspicious .
  9. Thank you! I hope you were able to finish The Girl with the Pearl Earring and that you enjoyed it. I agree, it's fun picking a new book to read! I hope you'll be able to finish The Woman in Black this weekend . Yesterday I read Fruits Basket Volume 14 by Natsuki Takaya. I didn't feel like starting a new book (graphic novel / manga), so instead I decided to continue reading Judas Unchained by Peter F. Hamilton, book 2 in The Commonwealth Saga duology. It's a re-read. I read from page 866 to page 977, so I made good progress.
  10. Welcome here !
  11. Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult

I read Natsuki Tayaka - Fruits Basket Volume 13 yesterday, today I plan on reading Fruits Basket Volume 14.
  13. Yesterday I read Natsuki Takaya - Fruits Basket Volume 13. I didn't feel up for doing any more reading, I'm still feeling pretty sick. I'm hoping to read Fruits Basket Volume 14 today. Happy reading this weekend, @Hayley and @Brian.!
