Capture
Has anyone seen the opening ceremony?
chesilbeach
Didn't see the opening ceremony, but I am watching the ski jumping now. Awesome
Fi.
I sat up last night and watched it at 1.45am, was a great opening ceremony but it must have been awful when that 4th torch didn't come up! Loved the ski jumping, patiently waiting the next event now
Peacefield
I watched the last half of the opening ceremonies when I got home last night and it was great as usual . I felt bad too when they had that technical difficulty, Fi! I'm looking forward to watching figure skating and Shawn White (aka the Flying Tomato) and his snowboarding . Raven
I sat up last night and watched it at 1.45am, was a great opening ceremony but it must have been awful when that 4th torch didn't come up! I felt bad too when they had that technical difficulty, Fi! I caught the highlights yesterday morning on the BBC and just laughed when that happened! (hey, that's just the way I'm built, sorry!). I'm dreading the 2012 opening, just how lame are we going to be?
Fi.
We'll be super lame, which is why I'll be out of the country having perfected a different accent

Ben
Been watching most of the Winter Olympics so far, it's fantastic. I particularly enjoy the ice hockey, snowboarding, the curling.. in fact, I enjoy it all. Been rooting for Canada so far, as I like to see the home team win some medals. Inver
A few close calls for the curlers in their games, but managing to stay on top of it. My niece played in a pipe band with the woman's skip, Eve Muirhead so we are cheering them on.
Peacefield
I was so excited to see Shawn White and Lindsey Vonn win golds on Wednesday, woo! Also that our guy won gold in the men's free skate last night . I'm looking forward to watching short track speed skating this weekend too, and go USA men's hockey! Ophelia
I tuned in in the early hours today and watched the ladies' snowboarding final (which was won by an Aussie). Then caught some of the men's figure skating. I know these Games have come in for a bit of criticism but I'm really enjoying them!

AbielleRose
Yup, Joe Pavelski. His mom is going to be all over him on that one! What a game so far! Already 2-1 USA!
Peacefield
He better watch out! Yep and it's not even the end of the first period yet, wow! I'm switching back and forth to the BAFTA's - it's too nerve wracking!
AbielleRose
What are the BAFTA's? Can you imagine the atmosphere in that arena right now? All of those guys are the best in the NHL. They are NOT holding back either.
Peacefield
Nope, not holding back at all. I'm looking forward to a fight or two! BAFTA's = British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. Our Oscar's basically.
AbielleRose
There was almost one at the end of the first period there. I wonder if they banned throwing octopus' I've been waiting for one or two of those to be flying onto the ice. Ahh! I see!
Peacefield
Ryan Miller is the man! USA is up 3-2 and the third period just started . Woo!
AbielleRose
We're 4-2 now with 12 min left to go in the 3rd! What a game!
Peacefield
I know just as I posted Cali we got another goal, woo! Not wanting to jinx anything, but what happens if the score stays 4-2 if you know what I mean??
AbielleRose
I think Canada will wage war! Did you see Pavelski shoot the puck at Canada's goalie and hit him in the mask? Damn!
Peacefield
No I missed that shot, wow! Okay I just looked at the schedule and if the score stays the same there'll be more games to follow and the gold medal game isn't until the 28th. That schedule is too confusing to figure out though as far as how many games are left to play, sheesh!
