  1. I read these books when I was about 13 or 14 and I am now 35. I read Flowers in the Attic Series, Heaven Series and stand alone novel My Sweet Audrina. I recently picked up a series called Rain (4 books to that I think) but did not enjoy this story as much.
  2. This idea came to me whilst discussing my favourite classic books with a work colleague. I just wondered if you could enjoy both authors equally or if people are split into two camps. Personally I love the Brontes and find Jane Austen hard to read. I do love the BBC Adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and love the various movies made over the years but just find the writing very long winded (no disrespect)! I did study Mansfield Park for A-level and Northanger Abbey also which possibly makes me a bit thick if I can only enjoy these books through discussion. In saying that I only ever read Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights, having watched a programme recently, I understand that I have a few more to read. Any other thoughts?
  3. Hopefully that would never happen! That is a really good question though! I think I would choose The Count of Monte Cristo as I have always meant to read this but the length has put me off.
  4. Strangers and Watchers - in that order! My sis bought me Strangers a few years ago when new covers were issued as my other copy had fallen to pieces! I did a re-read at this point and it still captivated me!
  5. 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead Zombies are my thing at the moment!
  6. Heard Big Mistake by Natalie Umbruglia at the weekend. Such a great song but Torn seems to get more play time and can always be found on compliation albums.
  7. I thought that I would abandon TV for this evening and watch the snow falling instead, how sad am I? We hardly ever see it though! Will not be so keen if it is still here Monday morning and I can't get into work!
  8. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, This Means War, Gangster Squad and Unknown.
  9. So far this year, I have bought more books than I have read! Started the year off nicely! Books Bought - The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry - Rachel Joyce, The Last Letter from Your Lover - Jo Jo Moyes, The Lifeboat - Charlotte Rogan, A Taste for Love - Marita Conlon-McKenna and The Rose Revived - Katie Fforde.
  10. Trying it's hardest to snow where I live at the moment! Hope I do not get stuck in work! Don't mind it tomorrow when I have no-where to go and I can curl up with my book!
  11. She is fast becoming my new favourite author. I read the Girl You Left Behind and Me Before You before Christmas. Both excellent and both made me cry! I have since bought Night Music and Silver Bay from a second hand book shop and then bought the Last Letter From Your Lover in Tesco on Sunday, which I am now reading!
  12. I liked the look of the paperback cover so I am going to have to wait until end of April/Beg May before I get to read this. Slightly worried as I picked up the passage quite by accident and had no idea that this huge book was going to be part of a trilogy. Hope he can keep the momentum going!
  13. I too started the year off with the unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. Cannot remember who recommended it but it was on my wish list for a few months now. I was able to buy it in Asda for a good price as it is on Richard and Judy's Book Club List.
  14. I read it about 2 years ago. It is an interesting take on a zombie novel! Read it before watching movie, if you can!
  15. I decided to keep a book journal last year so I did a tally last night and it turns out that I read 66 books last year! I also read two short stories (Sherlock Holmes) and 8 volumes of the Walking Dead Graphic Novels. I was pleased with this result but hope to make it 100 books in 2013! I have just been to see the first instalment of the Hobbit so think I will start 2013 reading this book! I read it about 10 years ago but feel ready for a re-read!
  16. It is called Lady in White Loved this as a teenager and happened to see it recently on Sky!
  17. I would hate this to be the case! When I was at primary school, I could never conclude essays and I always used to say - then I woke up and it was all a dream! It was a cop-out then and would be a cop-out now!
  18. Not sure if these can be considered but both quite tragic! Agatha Christie and the eleven missing days - Jared Cade 'Charlotte' Bronte in love - Sarah Freeman Gave me a great insight on two of my favourite authors. I was surprised that I enjoyed these so much as I don't normally read non-fiction!
  19. Robert Frost and Philip Larkin and only because I did them at A-Level! I would not read poetry for fun as I do not really get it unless explained! Think I try too hard!
  20. It was the famous five and the secret seven for me. When I was older I read Patricia Cornwell and then Michael Connelly, especially love the Harry Bosch novels!
  21. I think that Blandlings is being made into a tv series. Can't remember where I read this though. I love pigs so would be very interested in this series of books.
  22. I read this about 6 years ago when we were actually staying in Sorrento, Italy! We went to Pompeii while we were there. I like to tie-in my novels with my holiday destination where I can. I remember it being a very enjoyable read!
  23. I can also recommend the Hunger Games and the Passage.
  24. I had a copy in my hand yesterday in Waterstones! Such a lovely cover. I asked my hubby if he would get it for me for Christmas or at least tell other family members! It would make a lovely pressie, just thinking about who I could also get it for!
