Both of these little books contain three atmospheric short stories, perfect for autumnal evenings. The winner will also get Mary Shelley tea (a lavender and vanilla black tea) from Rosie Lea Tea's Literary Tea Collection (https://www.rosieleatea.co.uk/collections/literary-tea-collection) and a chocolate skull, to really get that spooky atmosphere .   and...   A special treat for a special month. The winner will choose one of the following recent paperback releases from the independent bookshop Big Green Bookshop:       The Wych Elm by Tana French A House of Ghosts by W.C. Ryan Melmoth by Sarah Perry The Familiars by Stacey Halls  The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White   The winner will be chosen via the usual random selection process in one week. Patreon supporters are entered automatically. If you aren't a patreon supporter but you'd like to join in with this giveaway, you can support here: https://www.patreon.com/bookclubforum.   I really hope you're all going to like this introduction to the seasonal giveaways. It's been a lot of fun to put together. Other chocolate skulls may have been harmed during the selection process…

  1. Travel Plans

Such glamorous travels! Spain and Portugal are high on my list, but unfortunately, it will take quite a bit of saving.
  2. New name, new me.

It's lovely to meet you, too! Happy reading.
  3. Travel Plans

No bears, although I was on the lookout! I saw a lot of deer and raccoons along with a fair few foxes.
  4. Travel Plans

So, I did it! I just got back from ten days camping in the Redwoods. It was beautiful and serene. I slept so well and hiked so much. It was a dream trip.
  5. I am quite proud of the one I've finished, as I did so with little confusion and much enjoyment, despite the time it took. I'm looking for my second book. It really has to be something that draws me in to keep motivation to press on.
  6. Introverts & Extraverts

I do agree that degrees of introversion can vary. There's also the idea that introversion equals shyness or social anxiety, which isn't necessarily the case. One can be quite fine talking with others, but recharge best in solitude. This is actually a really interesting topic to me, as I've looked into it quite a bit after my brain injury when I was trying to make sense of who I was and what I needed to heal.
  7. New name, new me.

Thank you so much! It is still lovely as ever.
  8. New name, new me.

Vodkafan! It's wonderful to see that you're still around. Thank you for the virtual bouquet. I have found some interesting changes, particularly in art and writing. If I recall correctly (quite possibly, I won't), don't you write?
  9. What's the weather like?

I miss rain so much! I love the perennially perfect weather here, but every once in a while, I want a good, drenching downpour.
