ivymuse
hm the only thing that I could think of right now would be a short story by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt called L'intruse. It's French and also you said it's a book, but I figured I'd just at least put it out there It's about an old woman who has dementia and she feels like someone has been breaking into her home as she keeps seeing an old lady. It then turns out that it was only her own reflection in a mirror.
