Terra Nova style books?

I just started watching the new Fox show Terra Nova and, unlike most people, I loved it.

Can someone recommend me some books with a similar theme?

You could try Julian May's 'Saga of Pliocene Exile' series, starting with The Many-Coloured Land. It too is about a group of humans who travel back in time to try and build a new life. There's a review here:

I haven't read them myself but you might like to try Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy: Red Mars, Blue Mars and Green Mars. As the titles suggest, the books are about humans starting a new life on Mars, not Earth, so I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're after.

It is not about humans, who travel back in time, but I can recommend this one:

 

Richard Dawkins - The Ancestor's Tale

 

It's my long-time-read, really sophisticated, but I enjoy it.

Why not try Jules Verne - Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle; not exactly the same story but those two is an adventure pack story that leads to humans’ big discovery. These also talks about the earth status on the past.
