Liz Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I have to admit that I haven't been reading many doorstep books recently, but I have a few waiting on the TBR mountain, so hopefully this will encourage me to get stuck into them. Hamilton (529) 02) THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER - Jed Rubenfeld (529) 03) THE PYTHONS' AUTOBIOGRAPHY - The Pythons (463) 04) THE SECRET HISTORY - Donna Tartt (629) 05) TO SERVE THEM ALL MY DAYS - R.F. Liz Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 I see I have not really read many Chunky Reads for a while, so I thought I would have a go at Monty Python's autobiography. Quote
Roger53 Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 From Here to Eternity. James Jones. About 900 pages? Lord of the Rings. JRR Tolkien. About 1000 pages. Hawaii. James A Michener. About 1000 pages. I am reading them all. Marvellous books. I love big books. It took me a year to read Gone with the Wind, but another great book of about 1000 pages. Quote
Fay Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Dan Brown - Angels and Demons is a fantastic read...but I am a Dan Brown fan!! enjoy!! Quote
Liz Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 I haven't been reading many long books recently, so I thought I'd pick up a chunky book to read during half-term. I am going to have a go at The Secret History by Donna Tartt (629 pages). Quote
Weave Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 You are doing well Liz, I am looking forward to your thoughts on 'The Secret History'. Quote
Weave Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Gyre - have you read it, then? I read it a few months ago. x Quote
Liz Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 I thought I'd choose a chunky read for Christmas, so I have gone with To Serve Them All My Days by R.F. Delderfield, which has 572 pages. This should keep me quiet over Christmas. Quote
Liz Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 Finished off To Serve Them All My Days this afternoon and very much enjoyed it. I have not read that many Chunky Reads this year, so hopefully I'll have read a few more by next Christmas. Quote
