Purple Poppy
Love the thread title LOL You have some good books there, Kitty, and like the rest of us, lots of reading ahead. I would recommend Cold Comfort Farm- Stella Gibbons. It's one of my all time favourites. Funny, witty and very clever. Another favourite of mine is The Woman in White - Wilkie Collins, (which I really MUST read again very soon). Pp
Renniemist
That is a good list Kitty. Some great books there. Some on my list and some I would like to put on my list if it were not so long already. The Diana Gabaldon books are great. I assume that you have already read Cross Stitch and Dragonfly in Amber since they are not on your list. Did you enjoy them? I have still to read A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It is so big, but I must get around to it soon.

I assume that you have already read Cross Stitch and Dragonfly in Amber since they are not on your list. Did you enjoy them? I did really enjoy them, they were the sort of books i really enjoy reading, in the sense that they are books which you would not normally read but you stumble across them and love them
Renniemist
The first time I stumbled upon her books I could not believe that anyone would call a book Cross Stitch. I lifted it from the shelf to see just what it was about. I was hooked.

kitty_kitty
Just read Dead Witch Walking - Kim Harrison the first of the Rachel Morgan series of books. I read it really quickly and enjoyed it too a proper hangover book - one you can read all day in bed with a sore head that is enjoyable but does not require alot of brain power

Kell
I am really enjoying the Kim Harrison series of books now i am getting into them, very similar to the Anita Blake series without the icky sex scenes!!!Are they very similar to the Anita Blake series? I was planning on trying some AB stuff, but if they're anything like the Kim Harrison books I'll not enjoy them - I really didn't like Harrison's style, although I liked the basic idea behind the books (I only read the 1st two and didn't bother with the third). I enjoyed the Anita Blake books more and i found them better written too. However, both series of books are what i call hangover books which you can just read and enjoy without too much thought but you can use your imagination. I describe them as being the Jackie Collins of the horror / fantasy world.
