romaincm Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hej, I have just finished the three books of David Nicholls ("One Day", "The Understudy" and "Starter for Ten") and I would like to read another book of the same type (light and funny I would say). I'm not a native speaker and so I'm looking for a book easy to read (I tried Howard Jacobson, "Who's sorry now" but I could not really understand the funny parts). Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I would prefer any type of fictions. Thank you in advance, Romain Quote
Habeebi Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 How about Nick Hornby 'About a Boy' or 'High Fidelity'. Those two are very straight forward and really entertaining. Quote
kurtz Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 The funniest books I have read are the Feng Shui Detective novels of Yuri Vittachi. But just as funny are Pool and Its Role in Asian Communism and The Coroner's Lunch, which are both by Colin Cotterill. Quote
romaincm Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Alright, thanks a lot. I'll try to find them at the local library and let you know what I think Thanks again Quote
