Chrissy Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I was so sad to read about the death of one of my favourite actors, Pete Postlethwaite. He was called 'the best actor in the world' by Steven Speilberg, and he was definitely in my Top ten of stunning actors. So Pete, I hope you Rest In Peace. Quote
Weave Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 RIP Pete, one of the best actors out there, so diverse and very talented. Quote
Raven Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 That was a bit of a shock this morning, I didn't know he had been ill. I've not seen a lot of his films, but those I have he has always been good in. Gone before his time. Quote
frankie Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I was sad, too, to hear the news. I haven't seen him in a lot of things but I liked him. RIP Quote
pickle Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I was also sad to read about this yesterday he was a good actor and appeared in a lot of films usually just small parts but always very very good. Quote
Peacefield Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It's very sad news indeed about Mr. Postlethwaite . I haven't seen more than a handful of his films, but his roles were always memorable. Quote
~Andrea~ Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Oh no! I didn't know he was ill even. He was a really great actor, one of the best. RIP Quote
Kidsmum Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 RIP Pete, a great actor who'll be sadly missed. Quote
Kell Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I'm completely gutted. He was one of our greatest actors and is a sad loss to the acting world. Not only that, but the world as a whole has a big Pete-shaped hole in it. I truly hope he'll be awarded a lifetime achievement Oscar post-humously, as I think it's shocking he's been nominated but never won one to date. Quote
Janet Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I was so sorry when I heard this. Brassed Off is one of my favourite films - he was an awesome actor. Quote
pontalba Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 He was one of those actors that could play anything, submerge himself in the role so thoroughly that he became the role. What an actor is supposed to be. What a shame to lose him. Quote
