lexiepiper
Books read in 2007 (78) Books read in 2008 (53) Books read in 2009 (127) Books read in 2010 (113) With things being a bit rocky in real life at the moment, I'm not going to set any goals for this year, instead I just hope to at least hit 100 books, which I think should be doable. I'm also hoping to make a bit of a dent in my tbr book pile and try not to buy as many as I did last year. If I manage that, I'll be a happy girl

Ben
Hey Kelly best of luck with your 2011 reading, I hope you find some crackers. Let me know what you think of Blood, Sweat And Tea because I've got that waiting on my Kindle ready to be read. Looks like you have some great reads waiting in your to-be-read pile. I spot Killing Floor in there by Lee Child; I finished it yesterday and it was a pretty good read.

Thanks Ben, best to you with your reading too I'm about half way through Blood, Sweat And Tea, and so far I'm really enjoying it, it's certainly interesting to read about the life as a paramedic, I don't think I could do it that's for sure! I'm glad you enjoyed Killing Floor, I'm hoping to get around and read that whole series this year

chesilbeach
Nice range of books you've got to look forward to, Kelly. I've been thinking of having a Roald Dahl re-reading session at some point - we stayed at a cottage a few years ago that had a nice collection of some of his children's books as well as some fiction, and I must admit, I plundered it with glee while I was there! Happy reading in 2011!

Happy reading in 2011! Thank you, you too! I can't remember the last time I read some Roald Dahl, so when I saw the big boxed collection for only £15 I had to get it! I'm hoping to get quite a few read this year, especially Matilda, I'm really looking forward to that one
chesilbeach
What a bargain! I've still got my original books from when I read them 30 years ago, just need to find them on the shelves (I think they're upstairs somewhere )

I've still got my original books from when I read them 30 years ago, just need to find them on the shelves (I think they're upstairs somewhere ) Oh that's cool, I wish I still had my original Enid Blyton books, I'm not sure where they disappeared too but now they've changed them and that makes me sad! chesilbeach
I've still got most of my Enid Blyton's too (although some of them are falling apart from so much use so I may buy them as ebooks) - I realised a few weeks ago how narrow my reading was as a child, I seemed to devour anything by Blyton to the exclusion of a lot of other authors, and Roald Dahl was probably one of the exceptions. That's my excuse for reading children's books now - I need to make up for my lack of variety when I was small!
lexiepiper
Yeah I was exactly the same, I'd love to go back and read the books I loved as a kid though, it'd be interesting to see how much I still like them

Oo very cool, thanks! I'm still half way through Kiss Of Life, find myself not enjoying this one as much as Generation Dead. How are you finding Passing Strange? lopeanha
Oo very cool, thanks! I'm still half way through Kiss Of Life, find myself not enjoying this one as much as Generation Dead. How are you finding Passing Strange? I'm loving it! It starts right away where book 2 ends, so you're back in the story right away. I guess that I'm going to finish it in the next few days and I'm curious about how the story goes on. I totaly loved Kiss of life, it set some strong emotions free towards the end. I enjoyed it even more than Generation dead, which I found kinda difficult to get into.
