labellevie
Because I've only just picked up reading again this year, I've only managed to properly document since July, so here goes... labellevie
Some great books there. What did you think of Delta of Venus? Thanks! Hmmm...well the Delta of Venus wasn't really what I was expecting. I do like to read a bit of erotica now and then, as long as it's tasteful, but at the same time warm, sexy and sensual. While Anais wasn't vulgar, I did think her tone was a little cold throughout and there were a couple of themes I found pretty disturbing to be honest, which kind of spoilt it (for me anyway). If you've read it, you'll know which ones I mean heheh . Anywhoo, those themes where the ones that stayed in my mind after I finished the book which is a shame, but maybe that's just me being oversensitve! I'll have to buy a copy as it seems to be an enduring classic to keep and read over and over anyway
lopeanha
Hehe I definitely want to see the film, but I always like to read the books first before the adaptations for some reason. Me too, usually. But with the Virgin Suicides I actually saw the movie first, which only happens if I really don't know that there's a book.
