TheBookWorm Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) Hello EveryBody... I'm TheBookWorm and I adore reading books - mainly fiction, but have been known to read the odd non-fiction book, too... My personal list of favourite authors grows year on year; but usually depends on what I am currently reading. And at the moment, the flavour of the month happens to be Agatha Christie. I've only read a dozen or so of her great Poirot mysteries to date, so have a long way to go before I can truly rate this author within my personal favourites, but I am pretty confidient that she will be in the top 100 for sure... Would appreciate any recommendations as to which author I should choose next... TheBookWorm Edited July 15, 2010 by Michelle Quote
Coffin Nail Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Welcome Bookworm. I'm a crime fan but prefer more modern, grittier novels, but I'm sure there'll be lots of recommendations in the crime section from members who know far more about the genre than I. Your reading list will never be the same again. Quote
pickle Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Hey Bookworm, welcome to the forum, I love Christie and have spent years tracking down some of her more obscure books, there are some great ones out there! Quote
TheBookWorm Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the warm welcome... Hi I always find it impossible to not walk out of a bookstore without at least one or two books newly purchased... TheBookWorm. Hi Thanks for the warm welcome... The great thing I like about Christie so far is that the endings are hardly ever what I expect. Take for example Hercule Poirot's Christmas, who'd have thought so and so was the murderer... Nicola Booth Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Welcome:friends0: I also love Agatha Christie books! I have only read Poirot books but intend to try some Marple soon! Quote
Nicola Booth Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 If you like crime, you should try Michael Connolly especially the Harry Bosch books. Best to read them in order, his earlier books are brilliant! Quote
catwoman Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Hi and welcome to the Forum. Glad to see another crime fan. I am more into the mordern crime myself, but I do love Christie. Are you interested in Mordern crime suggestions? Quote
