Weave Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Quite upset nobody's given his braces a good old snap though. I would be sorely tempted to do it (but in a nice way...) Quote
Wraith* Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I know if someone turned up in my secret organisation headquarters dressed like that they wouldn't even get a cup of coffee before half the office staff had ping'd them Quote

Wraith* Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I happen to recall the time my office minion's found out someone was wearing a tie that was heald on by elastic (so the couldn't be strangled) the guy didn't get more than three steps without someone tugging it. Quote
Kell Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Quite upset nobody's given his braces a good old snap though.I would - if only so I could then rub his chest better & then, do it again to kiss him better. Oh yum! Quote
Michelle Posted January 12, 2007 Author Posted January 12, 2007 Will you stop talking about Cpt Jack's clothes.. if I could get him to myself I certainly wouldn't be wasting my time pinging his braces! Quote

Mia Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Much as I wanted to love Torchwood, I just didn't. There was so much that was annoying about it - the whole team came across as completely incompetent and totally unlikeable. This was down to the poor writing and complete inconsistency from one episode to the next, I think. How could Ianto, who was so devoted to his Cyberwoman girlfriend Lisa and vowed to kill Jack for what he did, suddenly (only a few episodes later) be, er... (searches for polite euphemism) "going to bed with" his hated enemy Jack? I liked Gwen in the beginning, but she became so annoying. I even got sick of Captain Jack smirking and looking smug. By the end, I couldn't have given a toss whether they lived or died, I'm afraid. The "big bad" at the end was a good idea, but over too quickly, so it never seemed like a real threat. And what the was that about at the dance hall in the 1940s, with Jack and "real" Jack dancing together and then sharing a tender kiss? I'm sure they would have been lynched on the spot by the crowd if they'd carried on like that. How utterly ridiculous. Oh yeah, and a "secret" organisation that everyone knows about, with such great security that pizza delivery people just wander in off the street? Not to mention that great SUV with Torchwood emblazoned all over it! Very secret, I'm sure. I was so looking forward to an "adult" Doctor Who show, but this wasn't it. Putting in a few sex scenes and some swearing doesn't make a show adult. I'm amazed it's got a second series, and I hope to goodness it's better than the first. Quote
Mia Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Well.. I liked it! Lol! Don't get me wrong, there were some good bits, but it just could have (and should have) been so much better. It was a great disappointment. Of course, I'll be watching the next series - just to see if it improves, you understand. Quote
Guest fireball Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Mia, in ways your quite right in saying: Much as I wanted to love Torchwood, I just didn't. This was down to the poor writing and complete inconsistency from one episode to the next, I think. There was no consistency from one episode to the next, maybe that was a deliberate ploy, at least I hope it was.!! Interesting though, eariler in the series, Jack says something about a small and weird scottish Dr. in Scotland Tourchwood base wonder if you got it too.!? Could S.Mc Coy make reapperance then.!? hmmm. Wasn't impressed by his existing from the TV film version with the Mc Cann brother coming about, not a word about Ace either, what had happend to her then.? not a word. :irked:the hell out of that did. Oh well hopefully some of the above, especially the Inconsistences bit, will be answered if nothing else.! Quote

I absolutely loved Torchwood although I did feel sick after "Countrycide" and I'm not squeamish. I enjoyed the dance/kiss very much hehe Quote
Laramie Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I absolutely loved Torchwood although I did feel sick after "Countrycide" and I'm not squeamish. I saw that one , it's horrible (I've seen about the first 7ish cuz I taped em and watched em secretly!! ) Quote
Laramie Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 My parents knew I taped them but said don't bother after a bit. They said when I was allowed to watch them they'd buy me the DVD. Quote
OnyxAngel Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Well my mum and dad said I could watch even though it had adult content. They said "You can watch the first episodes (it was a double bill for the premiere) but if you get scared that's the last time" So even though I flinched a bit at one of the scenes (The scene where the weevil bites into the neck of that man and the blood goes everywhere on the 1st episode) I was ok and was allowed to watch the rest. It was cool when I watched the premiere of Torchwood because we was on holiday at Centre Parcs Quote

Michelle Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 I don't think it's so much that it's scarey, but there are some adult themes running through it. (My 8 year old would love to watch it, but there woiuld be FAR too manay questions!! LOL) Quote
Guest fireball Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Well Michelle, it's the rather scary adult themes, that would have me running to the nearest pub if I had an eight year old, and she/he asked some bloody awkward questions.! I can just imagine the odd eewww even in a few open minded adults! most especially the one about the ehhh, the ehmmm, rather amorous thingie from space whose, appetite was insatiable. Wouldn't want my 'maiden' aunt, if I had one, seeing THAT episode, might give her ideas. OH God! thats another can of worms I'd not want to see opened. eww.! Quote
Laramie Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Michelle, you really should move that cornflake!! Quote

OnyxAngel Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Well the adult content was the gore and the scariness and sex scenes Quote
Guest fireball Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 OnyxAngel wrote Today 07:13: Well the adult content was the gore and the scariness and sex scenes Well Onyx there's ehh, quite a lot of that too!, but I was referring to THAT particular episode in which some "wanton" young wan!!!, just had to (say it quietly, sex), somethin' rotten, and well when she was ehhh, done with the chaps, were left for DUST...LITERALLY and that was just the blokes, then when she started on one of the Torchwood girls, and the Welsh lassie in turn responded well....
