Hi, Has anyone ever watched a TV programme discussing books (like a reading circle). what are your thoughts on these type of shows?

The Book Club on channel 4 has just wrapped up and whilst I admit that I have not been reading the books under discussion, I found it very interesting to hear Gok Wan's thoughts on popular books!

There's a new show on Sky Arts called the Book Show that begins tonight, apparently Stephen Fry may get some air time! Would love to hear his thoughts!

I've moved this thread to the Music/TV/Film section as it's about TV shows.

I've seen a few "episodes" of The Book Show in the past - it's not bad but tends to be a little dry for my tastes. There's another book show on some obscure little Sky channel I occasionally used to catch which was pretty good, but I can't remember the name of the channel or the programme and I haven't seen it in ages.

I've only just started watching Channel 4's Book Club and I quite like it. I wouldn't say it was required viewing, but I like to hear what people think about books I haven't read yet, and add to my tbr list as a result.

Whatever encourages people to read has to be a good thing.

I've watched The Book Show since the beginning - I think it's in its third or fourth series now. I think you can still watch nearly all of the old stuff on YouTube, as they have a video of all the old interviews on there.

I can't get Sky Arts - does anybody know if they're planning to repeat it on Sky 3 as they did with the last series?
