Coffin Nail Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Anyone else read this yet?? I'm facing it with some trepidation. I mean, Rankin and Rebus is like neeps and tatties. I'm so worried I'll be disappointed. But on the positive side, Ian Rankin said in an interview that Edinburgh has a cold case unit now, so we might not have heard the last of Rebus. The doors may be open, but has anyone else been through it yet? Quote
joe Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I have put off reading this book because as you I am afraid it will not live up to the rebus books. I have read all of the rebus series and I feel that it may take some time to warm to another character. however having said that i really must try and read this book, will be interested to hear your thoughts Quote
Coffin Nail Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 We must be brave Joe. I will if you will. Quote
dave165 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I started this book but did not enjoy it at all and actually did not finish it. It is very different to what you would expect from a Rebus novel which are I think among the best detective novels written. I'm not saying you will not enjoy it, everybody has their own opinion, but I was disappointed. I would like to know though what someone else thinks. Quote
