Anyone else read this yet??

I'm facing it with some trepidation. I mean, Rankin and Rebus is like neeps and tatties.

I'm so worried I'll be disappointed.

But on the positive side, Ian Rankin said in an interview that Edinburgh has a cold case unit now, so we might not have heard the last of Rebus.

The doors may be open, but has anyone else been through it yet?

I have put off reading this book because as you I am afraid it will not live up to the rebus books. I have read all of the rebus series and I feel that it may take some time to warm to another character. however having said that i really must try and read this book, will be interested to hear your thoughts

I started this book but did not enjoy it at all and actually did not finish it. It is very different to what you would expect from a Rebus novel which are I think among the best detective novels written. I'm not saying you will not enjoy it, everybody has their own opinion, but I was disappointed. I would like to know though what someone else thinks.
