You would love it here, Charm, I know it! I'm determined to move east one day, so who knows, maybe we'll end up there at the same time!

Wouldn't that be something? You could show me all the lovely historical places and take me to the best coffee houses around!

Thanks, Charm! :)

Great!.. so it's decided.. as soon as the tots are older, you and Peace will both be moving to the East coast. This works out well for me.

Calm yourself missy! :) Goodness knows where in the world you would be by that stage, I've only just realised you're back in New York!! Does sound fun though :D

Have I just been talked into moving to the states in the future? I'm so innocent and easily led :)

I did hear Mr SF's autobiography mentioned though, I think that might be one to add to my wishlist.

I've heard it's really good, for some reason though I keep passing it by and only think of it when I see him on telly :) I do really need to be in the mood for autobiographys though and with my mojo on rocky ground, I think it's best to wait. Hope you enjoy it when you do read it! :)

Most definitely! We could wander around the House of Seven Gables in Salem and then have the best coffee on the eastern seaboard! :) Then me, you and Bethany could visit all the same spots Deliverance Dane did! Woo!

That sounds wonderful! Count me in! Well ... after my kids have grown up a bit so I'm not moving them mid-school ... and after I convince my OH it's in his best interest ... and after I sell everything I own here and rob a couple of banks! Phew! :D This could take a while

Ok now a question about actual books.

I've seen the author Jasper Fforde pop up quite a bit recently on the forum and receiving great reviews. For those of you who know the kind of stuff I like, do you think I would enjoy his books?

I can't quite make up my mind and wouldn't even know where to start :D You know I like mainly supernatural/fantasy, crime/thriller with the odd highly rated chicklit thrown in, but for the life of me I can't seem to narrow down his genre. I'm not really one for tales of woe or heartache, but on the other hand I don't want to miss out on a fantastic read and have had a few great surprises recommended from here!

Any comments appreciated :(

I'm sure others will confirm this, but a good place to start with Jasper Fforde is 'The Eyre Affair'. Its a mix of crime thriller and Fantasy with lots of silliness for good measure.

Well you could always just come for a visit, Charm :D

Like Sirinrob said, Fforde is a bit of crime/fantasy, and I would start with The Eyre Affair. He's so clever with his words, and hilarious! I think he's the only author where I actually laugh out loud when I read him. I think you should give him a try .

Thanks Charm, I have heard from a few others that it is quite good as well, so I think I'll make it one to read this year.

I have not read the Eyre affair as I thought I needed to do the background read up first, BUT I have nearly finished The Big Over easy, and should be finished and reviews by tonight and I love it. Think Who Framed Roger Rabbit the movie. I love it. If I am right this is first in the Nursery detective series.

I really do think you would love it Charm.

You are right - it is the first Nursery Crime book. The 2nd one is The Fourth Bear.

Thanks for confirming Kell and thanks for telling me the next in the series, I do get kind of confused which one is in whch series. I will be most certainly looking out for that one soon.

There have only been the two books so far, but I'm hoping Fforde will write more of them.

I hope so too, I found The Big over easy (I have 70 pages to go) to be fantastic, a breath of fresh air in a genre that can be quite samey (I am thinking more the murder who dunnit genre) When I first started reading I kept expecting Jessica Rabbit to pop up. That was kind of the way I was reading the book. It has just been a pleasure to read, I just wish I started reading it another time, as I have been so busy with Christmas, New years and Birthday parties to attend and to organise I have not had enough time to devour it. :D

Charm you must read it.

thank you everyone for replying and your comments! :D

The Big Over Easy sounds does sound very interesting, it's been added to my wishlist :D Besides, I'm only doing as I'm told! :D

I've added The Eyre Affair as well as it seems as if it would be good too, but I believe I would have to read another book to get all the in jokes, so it might be a while before I get to it.

Thanks again everyone

I've just added Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson, the first of a series, to my wishlist and after checking have noticed that it has grown from 39, as per my old thread, to 61 in a matter of days! At this rate I'll definately need to take out a loan!

Are you serious?? How did that happen

Totally serious! I think it was reading through all the new blogs that did it and some recommendations. I did say one of my new year goals was to spend more time on here, looks like it's paying off! I'm dying to order new books now (my mojo demands it!), even though I have a big enough TBR pile as it is

WOW!! I only heard about it the other day from Kell! That is such a coincidence! Great minds eh? Can't wait to hear what you think of it

Edit: Thanks for the heads up on the erotica bit

Well like I said when I edited my previous post, she does erotica also so it does tend to want to make me read this more

The book is a 2006 book so I suppose it is not that new, surprised it is in a charity shop though, I don't tend to find things like this in there.

 Me too!

Me neither  I have never ever came across anything like it, no Sookie or Women Of The Otherworlds or anything, guess they're just too popular!

Oh tell I lie, I found The black magician trilogy in the chairty shop three for a pound and I found the book Hunter's Moon by Lori Handeland, a warewolf novel. Other than that I don't find any of the more popular novels.

Crikey Charm! You're not wasting any time increasing your TBR pile, are you? I hope your mojo stays firmly by your side until you get through them all.

I know! Shocking isn't it? I did have a pretty quiet last few months of 2009 for reading so I'm trying to make up for it!

My mojo seems to be happy at the min, fingers crossed it hangs around

Finished Kiss Of Evil by Richard Montanari last night and was pleased that missing out the prequel didn't spoil it  I've now started The Vanished Man by Jeffery Deaver and it's started quite well

I've just added yet another choice to my wishlist taking it up another notch , Evermore by Alyson Noel, as recommended by Lexiepiper. Should be a good choice for kookie too, so I guess you could say I'm really only doing my parental suitability duty!
