Was the treasure a man with two left feet? If so, I think he totally spoiled the ending for the readers by a very poor choice of book title! Her husband found out about the affair 2 years ago and they went on holiday to Nigeria to try and patch things up, where they saved the life of a young girl who was going to be killed as a witness to the destruction of her village and murder of her family (it/they were in the way of an oil field). That young girl has now fled Nigeria to England and is living with the woman as an illegal immigrant.
