Maybe his form of happiness will be fulfilled in a different way though, which I've thought about. Perhaps it won't come in the form of a female companion, but in some other means (though, yes, it wouldn't be the way that I would prefer him ending).

I guess I'm just not satisfied with the ending that Jane had more than anything. Though that couldn't be helped, as the Scribe Virgin mentioned and stated quite clearly that

she could not bring someone back from the dead, and Jane had been completely gone

.

I wasn't too happy with Phury's book either by the way :(. I thought it lagged too much at the beginning, and then ended abruptly after all that he had been through. I also didn't feel the chemistry between him and Cormia that was there between the other brothers and their mates. From V's book I would have accepted that, because V--to me at least--is the least soft in the pack. But Phury just seemed capable of much more emotion towards Cormia than he showed.

Though, considering his past and all experiences with and due to Z, I guess it makes sense.

The first three books were all about the brothers and their respective shellan. The last two books were more about the individual brother, rather than him and their mates. At least that's how I see it. And it's not a bad thing. But as the series starts with one thing, it's a bit difficult to get used to something else once one gets to book 5.
