Andaira Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Skin Trade, Laurell K. Hamilton (June, 2, 2009) I'm guessing this is going to be the new Anita Blake book? And I've been thinking of getting myself the Lara Adrian series. You'll most likely end up reading it before me, so I'll be awaiting a review/thoughts/comments on them Quote
Crispin Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Yep, Skin Trade is the newest Anita Blake book to come out. I'm looking forward to it. Blood Noir was a little bit better...more like the beginning books. Which is wonderful. And yeah, I'm liking Veil of Midnight...it's just that being so far from the beginning of the series, it's kind of confusing. But the story line thus far has been good, I just need to get the first four books first. Quote
Andaira Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Blood Noir was good? Really? Well then I suppose those from LKH have gotten used to the later books in the series because I heard a few people saying that Blood Noir had not at all been good. But since you, like myself, prefer a plot of substance in a book , I'm going to trust in your judgment. And I thought you'd wait for the other Adrian books before you read any of them. Though I have no idea what I must have been thinking. It is you we're talking about Quote
Crispin Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Blood Noir wasn't GREAT but it was better than The Harlequin. Which I had that was better than Danse Macabre. So hopefully it stays true to form, and Skin Trade is better that Blood Noir. Yeah. That had been the plan...but didn't work out that way. But now I'm so doggone confused, that I have to put aside til I get to numbers 1-4. Quote
Andaira Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Ah well it's just one of those things where I'll simply have to read the books and see for myself. Though Blood Noir is #16 in the series. That's quite the bit of reading before I have an opinion on the book. I'm sure you'll be fine and that it will all be worth it in the end Quote
Crispin Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Oh I'm sure it'll be worth it... I just have to find the money to buy the first four... Quote
Andaira Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 You'll manage. I know you will. Though they might have the books at a library perhaps? Quote
Andaira Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Yea I know, you prefer having the books yourself as well. But hey, if the first plan of action fails... Quote
Andaira Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Amazon sells used books much cheaper than new ones. That could be yet another option. Quote
Crispin Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 That is true... I was told by Wynters that she got most of the JD Robb books off of Amazon for something like $1 a book... Quote
Andaira Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Mhm, yea, that's pretty much how it goes. And some cost even less than that, which is fantastic if you're in need of those prices. I say go for it Quote
Crispin Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 *runs to Amazon.com* Great...just what i need, another way to spend my money... Quote
