Oh, it's a good one, Mau - if you ever get the chance to go back & read it, do - it's such a giggle!

I've just been to see Jacqueline Wilson talking. She is a really nice woman. I bought Candy Floss to read. I've not read Clean Break though. Midnight is my favourite.

I hope you like it, Tiger.

For my birthday I got

The Making of May by Gwyneth Rees

The Magical World of Harry Potter

Reading: The Making of May.

I had a copy of Magical Worlds a while back - I really enjoyed it. It only went up to Book 5, though, & I suspect they'll release an updated version some time after boko 7 is published...

In this edition there's all about the monsters, how Rowling thought of the names (Especially the Slytherins and Malfoys)... The article of the Basilisk and its original status scares me (I had a look through and a picture of a man with a chicken caught my eye- LOL!)

ooh, yes - also known as a Cockatrice, if I remember correctly...

OK, I once again went to the library and chose:

The Wreck of Zanzibar by Michael Mopurgo

Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips by Michael Mopurgo

Rabbit Race by Lucy Daniels

I lost my best friends by Karen McCrumble

Roman Mysteries by Caroline Lawrence

Hopefully I'll finish The Making of May by Monday so I can start Amizing Story of Adolphus Tips!

I'm glad that you are looking foward to Adolphus Tips, Tiger.

If you enjoy it, then I have a couple of other books that I think you might enjoy! If you don't like it I'll keep my mouth shut!

My son recently read Kensuke's Kingdom by that author and really enjoyed it.

Absolutely correct! I never knew that there are three or four types of Basilisks (or Cockatrice) and I've just found that out...

I remember one being in a folk & fairytales book I used to have - actually, I may still have the book - I shall have to have a look & see if I can find it! It may have been a Grimm tale...
