Chimera, to answer your question -- My husband's in a rotational job program that has us moving every 6 mos for the first 2 years. -- 2 domestic (US) followed by 2 international rotations. We're halfway through our first international rotation here in India, then we'll move to one more country.

Definitely a different experience here in India... :D Learning a lot!

That sounds awesome! Any idea were you'll be heading next? Enjoy!

Thanks for the help with the smilies, Kylie!!

And Chimera -- we're about to start looking at locations for the next rotation. The markets are so bad that we're not sure what all will be available.. It's supposed to be another int'l destination, but who knows at this point w/all that's going on in the financial realm. My top choices would be Singapore and Sydney, but not sure if any assignments will even be available there. If not, we may end up going back to Manhattan and doing another domestic rotation there. Time will tell.... :D

Welcome to the gang Bethany :D

They were staying in Megahalaya for three months then travelled round visiting various places ....Darjeeling, Mussorie, Chandighar, Punjab. They will shortly be doing a 54 hour train trip back to Madras (with two small girls, I think they are very brave :D)then flying home.

Whoa!.. 54 hour train ride with 2 children? Brave, indeed!! :D

That's so cool they went to Chandighar and Punjab.. My husband was born in Punjab and much of his family still lives in Chandighar.

Fairly small towns.. How did your brother and his family have a connection to those places?

They've been attending a School of Frontier Missions in Megahalaya, the other places they were just visiting. They hope to return to do missionary work, probably more in the Tibet area.

Are you enjoying your time there?

That's awesome for them.. India is a different world!!

I'm enjoying it here.. It's a bit of a shock to the system at first, but there's so much to do in Bombay and we've made some great friends. I've also been lucky enough to volunteer with an NGO, which is a great experience for me. We have 3 more months here, and I know some things here will be hard to say goodbye to!

I'm in Minnesota, Bethany, born and raised. I hope you get to go to Singapore or Sydney, those both sound like wonderful locations to be! :D
