Colin Jacobs
Just read "In a dry season" this was my first Peter Robinson which I borrowed off my business partner. I was gripped by the story and liked the parts where we returned to the war explaining how the body got there in the first place. There are so many crime writers in the UK now and it was refreshung to find someone I knew nothing about. I will be looking out for more of his work but wondered if any one can recommend my next book from him. Unlike some other crime novels I dont thing they run in any order. But I would like to know why he has a problem with Jimmy Riddle.
Ruth
I always read a series of books like the Banks books in order. Banks is one of my favourite fictional detectives; he's a lot more of a sympathetic character than say, Rebus. I thought Gallows View and A Dedicated Man were both brilliant. petitephoto
Peter Robinson is one of the best UK Crime Authors around; it's real to the bone. If you haven't yet, read Wednesdays Child. I went to a book signing on Monday, and got his new novel signed. It's called All The Colours of Darkness. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii162/lucylambrini/DSCN1831.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii162/lucylambrini/DSCN1832.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii162/lucylambrini/DSCN1833.jpg I'm so glad I met him, he's a lovely man. I really want to meet Ian Rankin as well. Edited August 14, 2008 by Michelle Images are too big. Colin Jacobs
So if they serialised his books on TV who would you like to play Banks. Does it have to be a Yorkshire man? James bolam would be my choice
Chrissy
oooh, interesting proposal with Mr Bolam, but I think not. However much I love JB, he would not be Banks for me. The phroar factor that Alan Banks needs just isn't there! I reckon he would have to be northern, but not specifically Yorkshire! I have read pretty much all of Peter Robinsons books, and I think he is fantastic, I envy you reading them for the first time! Enjoy!
