teddy collector Posted June 27, 2008 Share Posted June 27, 2008 This is my first thread and it's quite exciting to have a space to talk about books, so sorry for starting with a moan... It's not often that I will pull a bookmarker out of a book, but my current book is heading in that direction. "Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy". I normally love her stuff but for some reason this one is just not holding my attention. Concept good but somewhat disjointed I feel. I will perservere for the moment although with only 100 pages or so left I'm not expecting to be knocked off my seat by it. Has anyone else read this and what do you think? happyanddandy Posted June 27, 2008 Share Posted June 27, 2008 I read Whitethorn Woods when it first came out because I enjoyed some of MB's earlier books - I got a copy from the library - I finished it quickly - it was far from MB's best work - just a series of short stories cobbled together - very light reading and no depth.
