dex Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I also like tommy or martin murphy by colin bateman, also the tv version. What are batemans other books like? Quote
SiameseCat Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Nobody for Sherlock Holmes? I like him a lot. Hercule Poirot is also very good. Yes, absolutely. Sherlock Holmes is my hero. Poirot is good too. The only thing that irritates about Christie's novels is that she has Poirot having a go at Holmes' methods, when she's often blatantly imitating his/Doyle's concepts/story lines. Ruth Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I went off crime novels for a bit, but my interest has been rejuvenated by Maureen Jennings books. They are set in Toronto at the end of the 1800s, and all feature Detective William Murdoch. I bought the books because I am a HUGE fan of the tv series Murdoch Mysteries, and that series is a kind of spin off from the books. I started the first book in the series last night, and am hooked already! Quote
