Reiziger99 Posted Monday at 10:53 PM Posted Monday at 10:53 PM Big fan of Rankin/Rebus, Billingham, Wallander, Kerr, Adler-Olsen, Masterman, Vargas, Kutscher looking for new series. I tried Elisabeth George (twice) but got tired of the constant nagging about the not happening pregnancy of Deborah and the relationship BS. I tried the first ten books of Cooper/Fry but got annoyed about Booth heavily overdoing his Peak district description. Felt like I knew the name of every stone there. Also did not like the over-presentation of his research and the long train of thought descriptions of Fry (and to some extend Cooper). They’re cops, not philosophers. i tried the first Susan Hill but immediately got the feeling she was casting too wide a net. Half way in the book I still did not get the feeling I was reading a detective. And who’s the leading character anyway? i can handle a chapter in italic in the mind of the criminal, but not every book please. so all in all not very demanding at all, I guess. Any ideas out there? Thx!! Quote
