Esiotrot Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Hmmm this reminds me - I wrote asking if I could have a sample copy explaining due to a printer problem I couldnt print the token from the website, but havent received anything Quote
happyanddandy Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 I haven't heard anything since I sent off subscription over 2 weeks ago Quote
happyanddandy Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Its takes about 3 weeks well it was for me. Have you got your free book laura -what did you get? Quote
happyanddandy Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 No - and now you mention it I am getting cross - will hunt out and contact responsible person this weekend. Quote
Esiotrot Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I received my free copy of the magazine today Quote
happyanddandy Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 I received my free copy of the magazine today What do you think of it so far? Quote
Michelle Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 HandD, did you subscribe to the magazine, or request a free copy? My free copy arrived ok, I subscribed, but I haven't recieved anything yet. I would imagine that when they recieve a subscription, they send out the next edition (and it's only bi-monthly), in case you had the free copy. Quote
supergran71 Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 H&D sent in a request for me, but I havent received the magazine yet Quote
Michelle Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Well I was proved wrong, because my subscription one came today, and it was the same as the free one, which seems a bit silly. They don't seem that quick at sending out the free copy. Quote
happyanddandy Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 Hi Laura - good to see you back. I am reading said 'South of the River' about 70 pages in and really liking it although it takes some getting into and the print is very small for my old eyes!! Quote
happyanddandy Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 I received a book for review today from New Books Mag - anyone else signed up? Quote
Michelle Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Yep, but unfortunately mine is one I would never have picked up for myself, and I'm not enjoying it so far. Quote
happyanddandy Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 I got Worldwide Adventures in Love by Louise Wener. What did you get Michelle? Quote
Janet Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 When you buy a book from them do you have to review them? No - not if you buy them. Quote
Nici Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I received Lost and Found - Jacqueline Sheehan. It looks great! Quote
Michelle Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I guess if it's a free one, it's not really a problem? Quote
happyanddandy Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 My books have come well packaged and undamaged so far Quote
Janet Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Isn't your name printed at the top? ETA: I've looked at mine - I'd write my name and address in the gap next to Guy Pringle's signature and put 'Subscribers name and address' above it. Quote
supergran71 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Got the new edition of Newbooks magazine this morning. Going to be hard to choose my free book. Next time I think the choice will be easier - for me anyway Quote
Michelle Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I don't actually view it as a 'free' book, as the postage is quite high. Anyway, hopefully my issue will be waiting for me at home. Quote
Janet Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I keep them (and my Waterstone's ones) in magazine racks on my bookcase. Quote
