I have just bought myself some magnetic bookmarks with pics and quotes from Winnie the Pooh. I love buying stuff like that. I think if it wasn't for the fact that i want my money to buy the books on my list i'd buy a bookmark everytime i entered a book store!

I love using magnetic book marks as they dont fall out.

I will confess I sometimes turn down the corners :D but only on my own books :S

I am using a magnetic Winnie the Pooh at the moment (so cute). The magnetic ones are so practical and like someone else pointed out they don't drop out like the more flimsy ones.

However I do have a bit of an urge to collect the leather ones when I am on holiday and have well ......more than I should have.:D

I would never turn book pages down  I get really annoyed if the spine gets creased or wrinkled. I get quite possessive about the state of my books so I always use bookmarks or receipts or scrap paper, anything to not damage the paper

I am the same way! :D

I always use a bookmark but my spines are always creased :D You can tell which books I've read and which ones I haven't just by looking at my bookshelves.

It's really hard to read a book without creasing the spine. That's usually bound to happen.. but I would avoid turning down corners at all costs. I'd rather remember the page or use a scrap of paper.

I remember years ago borrowing a book from my mum and turning down the corner of the pages.....thought she was gonna strangle me

Today I have invested in a lovely bookmark :D

If I did that to one of my mum's books... *shudders at the very thought*! I used to turn corners down when I was smaller (before the book collector in me grew up), of the books that were second-hand and tatty and ancient. Now the book collector is big and strong, I won't turn even those - I'd rather strive and fail to remember the page number!

Me too. My partner is talking about borrowing one of my books soon and I know he is already terrified of incurring my wrath if he breaks the spine. I want to cry sometimes when I watch him read with the book opened so far (his own book, of course). It's like I can feel the book's pain.

I just try to not open the books too much.

That's exactly what I do. It makes reading a bit awkward sometimes but it's worth it when you get to the end and the book is still in (near) pristine condition. :D

Definitely. I'm really trying with Inkdeath at the moment because it's a lovely cover and I don't want to ruin it at all.

Back on topic I found another bookmark of mine lying around today, it's not a very special one, just a plain HP bookmark, but it's another bookmark nevertheless.
