juli
Hi everyone!! I'm looking for book recommendations. I'm not a native English speaker. I want to improve my English skills, so I've come up with an idea to start reading in English, since I'm a book lover. However I have no idea where to start. I usually read romance and fantasy books, but I'm open to anything. Which book should I read first? What are the best English language books that you can recommend to non-native English speakers? Thanks for all the responses ☺️
Madeleine
Not sure if you've read them but a lot of people start with the Harry Potter books.
Hayley
If you like Harry Potter, the Septimus Heap books by Angie Sage are excellent too! The first one is called Magyk. I personally love Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books. You don’t have to read them in order and I’d recommend starting with The Wee Free Men .
Hux
Nothing by Janne Teller. It's classed as YA (so the writing style is very easy to read) but explores dark, interesting themes.
