Suitable content for young good readers

I have two 10yr olds in my class, who have a reading age of 15yrs. I am looking for books of any genre whose content would be suitable for 10yr olds, who need a challenge. Thank you.

The Lord of the Rings?  Pretty safe content wise, but not a children's book.
