Madeleine
I've seen a couple of the TV movies, they're OK, bit of fluff! I wonder if the books were written a while ago, although sadly there are some men who are still like that now!
Little Pixie
Thanks Gaia and Madeleine. I`m 2 hrs into the second book now , and trying to ignore the descriptions of women which pop up.
Little Pixie
Savage Cut - Jo Dereske Ruby Crane returns home to a small town in Michigan with her daughter, who's recovering from a car accident. Living an isolated existence in a small family cabin in the woods, she gets drawn into a crime involving the local Forestry industry. A bit clunky at first, but the characters really shine and there's a clever mystery too.
Little Pixie
I gave up on the 2nd Gourmet detective book in the end ; while I liked listening to the narrator, the book really wasn`t going anywhere and I got fed up of the way the women kept being described. And then the author made allusions to Fu Manchu when he was talking about a Chinese character. I`ll stick to the films ; they`re fluff but entertaining fluff. I`m now halfway through the 12th Wicked Witches of the Midwest book, a Breath of Witchy Air ( Amanda M Lee ) - enjoying it so far.
Little Pixie
A Breath of Witchy Air - Amanda M Lee The Winchester Witches are back for another mystery. Yay ! It's Winter and a beer delivery truck crashes in Hemlock Grove, leading Bay to cover the event for the paper, and Aunt Tillie to rush to the scene to sample the free beer. While taking photos, Bay falls over something in the snow...and the something turns out to be a body. There's an intriguing mystery and lots of funny lines, in a particularly good Witchy mystery with some interesting developments for Bay. Hayley
I love the cover of 'A Hiss Before Dying' very cute. 22 hours ago, Little Pixie said: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/homes-with-clever-library-spaces-248944 Some fantastic pics. These are great, I would love to have room for that many books! They all seem to have incredibly high ceilings though.

Wish You Were Here ( Book 1 in the Mrs Murphy series ) - the books have sweet illustrations too, if you take a peek at the excerpt. Quote These are great, I would love to have room for that many books! They all seem to have incredibly high ceilings though That site has lots of good storage ideas ; I saw one suggestion of storing books in the `knee space` under a desk, which did make me realise that I very rarely sit at my desk and could probably squirrel away quite a few books that way. frankie
I see you bought a copy of Talking as Fast as I Can! I hope you will like it!! You will understand my signature once you've read a certain chapter I also see you've bought Please Ignore Vera Dietz. It's been on my wishlist for a while. I don't know where I learned of the novel but I hope to read it some day. I hope you'll like it! I'm keeping my eyes open for your review, should you get to it sooner rather than later

I'm keeping my eyes open for your review, should you get to it sooner rather than later Oof, didn`t see these two posts ! I had a peek at the Lauren Graham auto-bio when I got it, and it does look good. What with all the movement back and forth of my downstairs books due to the pipes leaking, I have no idea which pile the Vera Dietz book is in now, or many of my other books. It`s entirely possible that I`ll find it soon. Erm, also it`s entirely possible it`ll turn up two years from now.
