If I love John le Carre, who else can I read?

OK, having started way back with A Murder of Distinction, I have now nearly read my way through every John le Carre book. (OK, I confess I didn't finish The Naive and Sentimental Lover, but I loved every other novel). The trouble is, I can't find anyone else who writes as beautifully and as intelligently but still has me on the edge of my seat.

 

Any suggestions?

You might enjoy Enigma, by Robert Harris.  It's not a milion miles away in tone and is well written.

Good suggestion Raven - I've read both Enigma and Fatherland by Robert Harris and loved them. He's probably got a few others though so I'll check them out.

I'm yet to read any le Carre but if spy novels are your thing the Len Deighton comes to mind.
