Little Pixie Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Good luck clearing that dining room table! I know you'll read loads of books this year, so fingers crossed there's more good than bad Aw, thank you ! Quote
Little Pixie Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 That sounds like a nice idea . I hope you enjoy your re-read . Thanks. Sometimes you just want to snuggle up with old favourites ; last night, I ended up reading till 4am *gulp* `cos I kept thinking ` just a few more pages....` Quote
chaliepud Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Thank you ! And thanks for the recommendations. Ah, I`m sure I recall the days of having a 200 TBR. Those naughty books multiplied when my back was turned. Now I`m hoping to keep the TBR under 1,000. Good luck with that! Quote
Madeleine Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I've long stopped counting my tbr piles, after all there could be worse things to worry about! Quote
Little Pixie Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 I've long stopped counting my tbr piles, after all there could be worse things to worry about! Erm... That`s true. On the other hand, in a few years, the house could be filled with Book Tunnels and I`d be on some TV Hoarding show. Quote
Anna Begins Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 The only thing is- you'll actually put a dent in that Here's looking at another 200 (or so?) Quote
Little Pixie Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 The only thing is- you'll actually put a dent in that Here's looking at another 200 (or so?) Yes - I`m aiming for 200 ( or at least, 100 ) . It`s the enthusiasms for new authors which get me into trouble ( I must have around 70 Richard & Frances Lockridge books, bought over the past couple of years ) and which suddenly make that TBR bulge... The Book Thief, Neverwhere and David Copperfield are three of my favourite books, I hope you'll like them! And hope you have a great reading year getting through your tbr pile! Although, I don't think a house of book tunnels sounds like a bad idea... Cat trapped in garage door. Fortunately, the cat, Bella, was okay. that looks awful! So glad it was a happy ending! Quote

Little Pixie Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Xiao-Xiao got a Kitty Activity Centre for Christmas. She`s on it a few times a week, though I don`t think it`ll replace the excitement that is string. Quote
Athena Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Awww, so cute . I'm glad she's enjoying the Activity Centre. Quote

Little Pixie Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 Awww, so cute . I'm glad she's enjoying the Activity Centre. Thanks; She`s also just got a sheepskin radiator cat bed, which she loves. It took her under 3 hours to climb up on it for a snooze ( she`s generally so cautious). Quote

Ben Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) I really struggled with Kolymsky Heights when I tried to read it last year... barely got 50 pages through it and was very disappointed considering my copy had a glowing reference from Phillip Pullman on the front (not that they mean anything!). Saying that, it is supposed to be very good so maybe I just didn't get into it properly. *shrugs* I hope you have better luck with it than I did. Edited January 13, 2017 by Ben Quote
Alexi Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Goodness - I feel a lot better about my TBR having seen yours! Judging by similar comments, you are performing a public service I hope you have a brilliant year of reading in 2017. Quote

It`s a bit of a lottery getting charity shop books - sometimes they`re there `cos of someone cleaning house, or because someone just couldn`t bear the book. Quote
