dukestravels07
Hi. I have been reading Tom Sharpes books and I really like that 70's/80's suburban england feel. I used to read the Adrian Mole books when I was a kid, so I have always had an affection for this setup. Great escapism and nostalgia. I have bought a Reginald Perrin collection, so will be reading that soon. Can anyone recommend other similar books? Preferably stuff pre 2000
poppy
I really enjoyed Blott on the Landscape by Tom Sharpe, the TV production was hilarious too. Other British satirical books I've read and can recommend are Adolf Hitler: My Part In His Downfall by Spike Milligan; Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons and I believe PG Wodehouse and Saki are considered satirical as well. Welcome too to BCF
