Raven Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I know there are a few people on here who have enjoyed the various Marvel offerings over the last few years. Here's some news that should give some fan-glee: Spider-Man swings into Marvel films. Whilst the last couple of Spidey films weren't the best, Marvel taking the character back in-house and making him available for other crossovers sounds like a jolly good plan to me! Now, if only they could work out something with Fox for some X-Men crossovers! Quote
Athena Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 It's great they came to an agreement about spiderman! Now, if only they could work out something with Fox for some X-Men crossovers! I agree, that would be great. Quote
woolf woolf Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I don't know if you agree, but this thread could be used for both Marvel and DC films (e.g. "DC x Marvel Universe" or any other title Raven likes). I suggest this because I thought of creating a separate thread for the upcoming DC films in parallel to this one, but I think it wouldn't have enough posts. Quote
Raven Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) I'd say start a new thread. DC have only just started their on-going franchise, but it is one that is set to last a few years. Also, the Hulk doesn't like Batman. Edited October 9, 2015 by Raven Quote
Timstar Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Still need to see Ant-Man and the new series of Agents of Shield. But Jessica Jones next month has a lot of potential! Quote
Raven Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Ant-Man is out on Blu-ray at the end of November, and Marvel have just given the nod for a sequel (much to the annoyance of the Captain Marvel fans, which has been bumped back a year because this is taking its slot). Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Agents of SHIELD is going from strength to strength. Rewarding for those who stuck with it. Quote
Raven Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 I'm still on catch-up with that, hoping a colleague will lend me series two before series three makes it to Channel 4! Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) Season 3's been fantastic so far. ETA: Fitz is increasingly becoming the best thing about the show, for me. De Caestecker's doing a brilliant job with the character. Edited October 20, 2015 by Karsa Orlong Quote
Timstar Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Season 3's been fantastic so far. Have you been downloading them? Don't think they are airing until the new year here Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Have you been downloading them? I couldn't possibly comment Channel 4 probably won't be far behind in the end, as they'll catch up during the mid-season break I expect Quote
Timstar Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I couldn't possibly comment It's OK I know you wouldn't do something like that Annoyingly Gotham on Channel 5 seems to be doing the same thing! Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Looks like I'll finally have to sign up for that free 30-day trial on Netflix Quote
Timstar Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I can't watch the video at work but I assume it's the Jessica Jones trailer, looks awesome doesn't it. Really didn't think much of the comics though, poor art and boring story lines. You'll have to watch Daredevil as well, it's brilliant. Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 You'll have to watch Daredevil as well, it's brilliant. Definitely - I've seen some of it via other means so really want to see the rest Quote
More reading time required Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Yep, Daredevil was a brilliant series Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Watched the first four episodes of Jessica Jones over the weekend. I like that it's so low-key and has that noir-ish feel to it, and the undercurrent of paranoia running through it. Impressed, so far, both with the show and my first foray onto Netflix Edited November 23, 2015 by Karsa Orlong Quote
Raven Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 Still wiping tears from my eyes . . . Quote
mirandashell Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I just bought Phase One and Two on DVD and have watched the first three, not including The Hulk cos I can't stand Ed Norton. Good way to spend a day off work! Quote
Raven Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 The Hulk is okay (nothing great, but okay). I spent most of the film wishing it was Mark Ruffalo playing the character (as I saw it after the first Avengers film and I think he would have made it work better than Norton). Quote
mirandashell Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I agree! Mark Ruffalo was way better. I've got two left for Phase One. My favourite so far has been Thor. But my favourite character is definitely Agent Carter. I adore that woman! Quote
