kitty Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I thought it was a good book, I have tried to read one of her books before and gave up. I think it was called Pandora. I thought I was going to find this a hard read when I saw the character list but found it okay after a few chapters. Def a good holiday read. Quote
Mia Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I'm about a third of the way through this at the moment. It's okay, but seems like she's kind of just going through the motions. It's not a patch on Riders, Rivals, Polo etc. The characterisation just doesn't seem as good as usual - it makes it difficult to care about these people. The only one with a bit of depth seems to be Paris. Even Janna's character is pretty sketchy - she is beautiful (of course!), has red hair, is kind-hearted and emotional and tends to go for married men. The way she's supposedly turning Larks around is laughable - she invites the Wolf Pack to tea and puts some of the children's work on the walls?! I know Cooper's focus in going to (rightly) be on the relationships, and it's all escapism, but you need a bit of reality, surely? All in all, a bit disappointed so far. Maybe I will change my mind as I read on. Quote
