I did manage to finished the Amelia Peabody book, The Last Camel Died At Noon and the latest in the Bloodlines series from Richelle Mead was published today, so my pre-ordered copy of Silver Shadows automatically downloaded on to my Kindle this morning, and I'm 20% into it already! :smile2:

I just finished reading "The Book Thief". It is a powerful book and I can see why it was on the Best Seller list for so long a time. A great read.

I'm glad you enjoyed this one :). I loved it when I read it last year.

I haven't read much the past few days, but I'm busy organising my new book shelves! This is very fun. My room is turning into a 'little' library :exc:.

Currently reading two books, almost finished one.

I managed to read 98 pages of Travels in the Scriptorium by Paul Auster in one sitting. A couple of... awkward? moments but rather good so far, hoping to finish it tonight.

I am also reading Carry a Big Stick by Tim Ferguson. Quote "A funny, fearless life of friendship, laughter and MS." Not bad, only 67 pages in.

Finished Sycamore Row by John Grisham. It was a relief to get that one out of the way. Now I've started A Discovery of Witches, which has been on my TBR pile since 2012.

I hope you like it :)! It's on my TBR too, my brother and his girlfriend both really liked it so I hope I will too.

I managed to finish a book last night. Sweethearts by Sara Zarr. I just know that my mojo is going to be AWOL until I've actually moved to the new place and have settled down, so I'm not too hopeful with my current 'read':D Sigh!

I am seeing the end of the tunnel with The Fountainhead.  I am 92% in and just read a "key" conversation that I think opened my eyes like none of the discussions in the book previously.  A bit of a "a-ha!" moment.  I don't know the end yet but I can see it comin'.   Woohoo!  And I think my review is almost done.

That bites!  I hate not being able to read. You're just in a slump, don't worry  Seems to be going around lately.  Maybe we're so pumped up in the beginning of the year, it peters out in the middle of the year!

It's good to see you around though!

I'm so happy to hear you've persevered and that it's been rewarding as of late! Well done :D

It bites very much! I guess I'm now used to mojo slipping every now and then, but the thing that is more annoying is that reading in bed at night doesn't get me to sleep at some point. I will put a book down and feel I'm tired and that I'll fall asleep very soon, but things just keep going around in my head in circles :( And then I pick the book up again, thinking if I can't get any sleep, I'll read. But the book, whatever book it is, is usually not doing anything for my mojo....

I know this is just temporary so I'm not too worried. But I miss the times when I could get into all sorts of books and just read away!

I just finished reading "Becoming Chloe" another book by Catherine Ryan Hyde. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. A description from Amazon of the book:

Meet Jordy. He’s on his own in New York City. Nobody to depend on; nobody depending on him. And it’s been working fine.

Until this girl comes along. She’s 18 and blond and pretty–her world should be perfect. But she’s seen things no one should ever see in their whole life–the kind of things that break a person. She doesn’t seem broken, though. She seems . . . innocent. Like she doesn’t know a whole lot. Only sometimes she does.

The one thing she knows for sure is that the world is an ugly place. Now her life may depend on Jordy proving her wrong. So they hit the road to discover the truth–and there’s no going back from what they find out.

This deeply felt, redemptive novel reveals both the dark corners and hidden joys of life’s journey–and the remarkable resilience of the human soul.

I am starting "Fractured", a book by Karin Slaughter.

I will be starting her latest, Take Me With You, soon.  Becoming one of my favorites too.   Electric God sounds good too- actually, they all do.

So glad you are enjoying the Auster!  It was strange, but I loved it. :)

Now, that's a reason not to be reading!  A deliciously lovely reason!  :D :D

LOL, tonight I was going to buy "Take Me With You", but, I thought I better take a couple days break from Catherine Ryan Hyde. I believe it was rated 5 stars on Amazon.

Ya I'm taking a break too- just listed 15 books on my thread I want to get to, but I will be reading others in between (although not many, I want to stick to the list).  Take Me With You is on it, though
