emelee Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Do you have a reading chair in mind that you really want to have, or even have? What kind of a chair is it? Maybe post a picture? I'd like a wing chair with some classic pattern that doesn't take over completely, but adds a touch of interest. Quote
poppy Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I like to curl up on chairs, so this one would be lovely. And there's something very appealing about old leather chairs, so I wouldn't mind this one too. This one would be cool hung up under our veranda Quote
Athena Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Interesting looking chairs! I prefer reading on a comfy sofa, though a lot of the time I am reading in my desk chair. Quote
Janet Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I have a reading corner under our stairs. I sometimes drag a footstool out and sit with my feet up. My Mum made me a cushion for it for Christmas... Quote
emelee Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 I am in love with that cushion, Janet! I am a HUGE fan of Quentin Blake. And Matilda is one of my favorites. Quote
chesilbeach Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 i quite like my armchair where I sit and read, and although it's lovely, I wouldn't say it's the chair of my dreams. We did look at a lot of chair when we were shopping for it, and this was the best one I found at the time, but I think the reading chair of my dreams probably doesn't exist! It depends on the book and my mood, but sometimes I think I'd like something more smooshy (sorry, can't think of a better word to describe what I mean!), and other times I wish I had something more upright like the wing back chair in the original post. What I really need is to win the lottery, and then have a bigger house with lots of reading corners with a variety of chair and sofas to suit my mood! Quote
Anna Begins Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I kind of read in an unconventional way- on the edge of my bed with my trunk as a table. I like to sit straight in chairs with tables. What I really want is a bedroom vanity. Quote
