I received an invitation to something called 'World Book Liberation Day' (which is apparently tomorrow) on Facebook. I know 'BookCrossing' exists, but before I liberate a book, has anyone ever participated in this? Does it actually work? I'm just asking this, in case I leave a book somewhere and nothing ever happens to it!

I love the idea, but not sure if anyone else will play along!

I've never heard of it. As silly as it sounds, I don't like the idea of Book Crossing in case one of my books just gets left, and it's sat there forever neglected on it's own. :hide:

I do bookcrossing but I've had replies from only a minority of the books. Doesn't mean they haven't been picked up though.

I know Inver does a lot of bookcrossing too.

I dont think its a good to leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise.

I didn't think that it was a good idea, as you run the risk of the book never been found by anyone. That';s why, even thought I thought it was an interesting idea at the time, I didn't participate. I couldn't bear that thought of my book being unloved by anyone.
