ENERGISE YOU packs twenty years of research and experience into seven simple steps that will help you achieve lasting results. When I decided a couple of months ago that I needed to start living a healthier life I happened to see this book reviewed in a magazine. It has proved invaluable in getting me on track, with healthier eating, exercise and just in general encouraging me to improve my quality of life and giving me tons more energy. There is very little science in the book, as the author says, he has done the science so we don't need to, so the book is just full of useful facts and information, with lots of suggestions on how to improve your energy levels and as a result, your life. It is only 115 pages long so there isn't a chance to get bogged down and it's chapters are very easily laid out so that you can easily find what you are looking for. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Quote
chaliepud Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 I've just finished Victoria Hislop's 'The Thread', a definite return to form after the disappointment for me that was 'The Return'. Later on I'll start 'The Death and Life of Charlie St Cloud' as I need a shortish easy read for a busy weekend, something I will be able to dip in and out of whilst watching my three kids at their separate badminton tournaments! It's weekends like this I wish Steve was home to share the load.. Quote
chaliepud Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 A few more books bought, mainly using birthday gift cards... Spirit of the Wild Dog (the world of wolves, coyotes, foxes, jackals and dingoes) by Lesley Rogers and Gisela Kaplan. I'm really excited as this has dingoes in, which Obi is descended from, it may explain a lot!!! Life Skills for Puppies by Helen Zulch and Daniel Mills. This is more for the children when our time to get a new puppy approaches. My Animals and Other Family by Clare BaldingThe Watcher in the Shadows by Carlos Ruiz ZafonTell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka BruntThe Witness - Nora RobertsThe Painted Bridge - Wendy WallaceThe Age of Miracle - Karen Thompson WalkerEasy - Tammara Webber I finished Replay by Ken Grimwood last night, twas very good, thank you Janet and Steve for the recommendation, I'd probably give it a 4 or 4.5/5 as there were a few parts I wasn't too happy with and felt the last third of the book was rather rushed. Athena Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I dread to think how long your wish list is.. in fact I may just go and have a look on Goodreads. Edit: Wow, that's a lot of books!! x XD I know , it's a lot. My wishlist became a lot bigger after I started to read book blogs and since I joined this forum. It doesn't help that I have somewhat broad tastes in books. I don't know if I'll buy them all eventually (a few might be scrapped off of it if I read a negative review here etc), would like to though XD. Quote

Janet Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I saw this and thought of you! I don't know what it's like, but it's free on Kindle at the moment and has 27 5* reviews (and only one 2* review, no 1*) - and it's about dogs - so I thought I'd link it just in case you haven't got enough books to read! julie Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Chalie What type of doggie are you gonna get ? I've never had one ,so I have no clue what all you need to do with them . Are you gonna post a picture when you get it ,and do you have a name picked out yet ? Quote
chaliepud Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 We lost our 15 crossbreed girl at the end of April so now just have our nearly 15 year old crossbreed boy and nearly 10 year old Australian Cattle Dog (ACD) so we are getting another ACD in around 6 weeks.. I would imagine you have seen this breed where you are as they are most often used as herders on farms and ranches... I know they are fairly well known in the US, but are still reasonably rare here in the UK. I know what I want to call her and think Steve semi agrees and one child agrees so have a bit more work to do on that one.. I was hoping to call her Dixie originally but that got too many rude sniggers from my boys!! Quote
julie Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I just looked them up online to see what they looked like. I was thinking they were the kind that were spotted fur -- they look like really good dogs . Great for companionship . Do you guys live in a farm-type area with other animals ? Quote
