Kgbow Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Hey guys, I was lucky enough to pick up two books by John Connolly "The Killing Kind" & "The White Road" I started reading "The Killing Kind" a couple of days ago. It was bloody brilliant. Nearing the end of the book I found myself attached to Charlie Parker and Rachel. Almost like, I knew them. Once I finished the book I moved strait onto the next in line, "The White Road" A few chapters in and already im strait into the dark, miserable yet addictive atmosphere that John is really good a creating. I know iv started a couple of books into the series, who knows, Maybe ill finish at the start! Quote
vodkafan Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Haha I wonder if reading "dark , miserable but addictive" stuff will affect your music Kgbow? I doubt it but the thought struck me Quote
SiameseCat Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I think I read that one some years back. The story and atmosphere were definitely addictive. But these days I find I'm reluctant to choose to read such bleak books. Though I expect to revisit in the future. Quote
Kirsty_S Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I'm falling a bit behind, but i have read most of them, it is just the last 3 I have still to read, they are quite bleak...but still I find myself drawn in Quote
dex Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I tried his first Charlie Parker book, but it kept jumping back to the past so I haven't read anymore. Quote
