A list of books you've read, coded by language and format! Mary, I think you're going to fit right in here ....

hahaahhahaha thank you very much! ^^

Welcome Mary :)

Can I ask what you thought of Ape House, by Sara Gruen? I really loved Water For Elephants, and have almost bought Ape House on a few occasions.

Thank you!

Well, Ape House was my first Sara Gruen's book, so it was surprising. I liked her writing and her story's development very much. It has two different characters and perspectives and my only complaint about the book was that I thought the characters would have more time together, as a team, working on the same objective. It's moving sometimes and has a big social criticism.

I gave a 4-stars rating (:

Hi Mary, loving the list coordination!!

Is there a particular Brazilian author that has been translated to English you'd recommend? I'm doing a round the world challenge and it's nice to get recommendations from people in the country itself :)

Thanks Brian and Alexistar!

Alexistar, what an awesome challenge you're doing!

Well, what's your favourite genres? I'll think about some recommendations for you!

I've got The Host by Stephanie Mayer on my TBR along with Size 12 is not fat by Meg Cabot. Great list by the way :)

Those are great readings! I got amazed with The Host! It's so different from Twilight, it doesn't even seem the same author! *_*

And I'm a Meg Cabot big fan, so almost everything by her I love! Especially these more adult books =))))

I'm reading Twilight at the minute and really enjoying it, so I'm hoping that I love The Host too. I don't think ive read any Meg Cabot books, but I have several on my TBR and wishlist :)

I'm a huge fan of Meg Cabot too! I've read most of her YA and adult books, but I'm waiting for some of her more recent books to be published in the UK. The publishers published the second in a series over here without having released the first one, which was really irritating :irked:

Hi Mary some great books on your list I have read a few of them, though I stand in awe of your organisation

Thank you very much! ^^

I hope you like both of them! ^^

Meg Cabot is a must-read for me! She can write the most juvenile romance as well as the most awesome vampire book as well as a funny police book!

How awesome! I've also already read the most of her books! I guess every year they release something by her around here... This year has already two book to be released! \o/

Oh, what was the second book the released there? I hate when the publishers do that =(

They released Overbite before publishing Insatiable, which was really frustrating, but it's out in about a months time, so hopefully I'll be reading both in the not too distant future.

Oh, hope you get to read soon! Insatiable is marvelous!! \o/

Hi Mary!

I loved The Host and have Delirium on my TBR shelf, I noticed Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is a Spanish title, do you know if it's one that has been translated into English? The reviews don't look very good for it, how did you find it, he was one of my favourite authors last year...

Oh, so great! Delirium is awesome, too! Both of them, actually, are on my favorite list! =o)

I saw Marina's English version on amazon, but I don't know if it's a US or UK version =\

I LOVE all Zafón's books - including this one! He's marvelous!

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare is fantastic! Have you read her Mortal Instruments series?

I've read Mortal Instruments's City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass. City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls hadn't been published here yet.

But sincerely, I'm not a great fan of this series. I think it's just okay. Clary got on my nerves on City of Glass, I really hated her.

A lot of people has been telling me The Infernal Devices series is better, but I'm not expectant.

I would say that I like the Mortal Instruments series and I'm happy to read them, but Clockwork Angel was much, much better. I absolutely loved the Victorian setting, and I couldn't put it down once I'd started it.

The Victorian setting is what's interesting me most! I think I'll be able to enjoy the reading for that, at least!

Just finished The Selection by Kiera Cass and it surprised me. I loved how strong the main character is and I loved the love triangle! I read some reviews on goodreads and some people didn't like it at all! For me, it's almost a favorite! I SO want to read the second book asap!

Thanks for that - I would definitely recommend Water For Elephants. I know quite a few people who have read it, and I think they all enjoyed it too. :)

Have put Ape House on my wishlist!
