Michelle Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Ok, so you can't get much more off topic than this, but I have just discovered these today.. and they are heavenly!! I've actually got the mint ones, and I'm taking the chocolate ones to work tomorrow (my last day).. I'll have to look out for other flavours next time I'm shopping! Quote
Maureen Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I just love Cadbury - esp whole nut...and always thought it is one of the most popular in the world.........but recently, while on holiday at Lake Garda, Italy - we could not find any in the shops, although they had other English chocs. When we asked for Cadbury specifically the shop people had never heard of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sadted Quote
Kell Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I've had the hazlenut snaps & the orange ones too - they're delish! You often find other countries have never heard of Cadbury's - odd coz their chocolate is So much better than some others I could mention, such as Hersheys (ick!). When push comes to shove, though, I tend towards Throntons. Mmmmmmm! Quote
Mamacita Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Chocolate! You have my attention!! What are snaps? Quote
Michelle Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 Snaps are thin chocolate, made sort of crispy by bits of mint, orange and teh such. Hard to explain, but lovely! Quote
Mamacita Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Hmm, sounds good. We have these things called "Swoops". They look like potato chips (crisps to you) but are made of chocolate. I avoid them. They're not made from the best chocolate and it makes it too easy to eat a lot of them. We have easy access to Cadbury,( lucky us!! ) at stores like Whole Foods and some of the Brit specialty shops. But if I REALLY want to indulge, I buy a Lindt dark chocolate truffle bar. :faint: Quote
Kell Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Our Snaps are shaped a bit like Pringles, so they're probably similar to your Swoops - they are deliciously more-ish to boot. ANd I agree about Lindt chocs - especialy the dark ones - mmmmmm! Quote
Maureen Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 The bad thing about Snaps is you can eat a whole pkt without noticing!! Quote
Mamacita Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I think they must be about the same thing, then. Next time I'm in the Brit shop I'll see if they have some and I'll give them a try. I'm sure dh will help me eat them! Quote
Kell Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I'm sure dh will help me eat them! I'll be surprised if you want any help with them - I always just want to scoff the lot - LOL! Quote
Michelle Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 On the subject of chocolate.. I am eating a Chocolate Orange, and it's just heavenly! "Don't tap it.. Whack it!" Quote
Maureen Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 You choc lover you! I had to wolf down some choc reading that!! Today I read *that it is good for you - so I can do it for my health!! * A case for reading - reading can make you feel better about things!![/b] Quote
Kell Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 On the subject of chocolate.. I am eating a Chocolate Orange, and it's just heavenly! "Don't tap it.. Whack it!" It's not Terry's - it's mine! Quote
Michelle Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 Right now, I assure you it's MINE! And it's almost gone! Quote
Maureen Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Whenever I see these at the shop, I think of you Micha! Quote
Tiger Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Ooooo... I LOVE chocolate! I tried some Cadbury's Snaps yesterday, the mint one and the orange one, and they're LOVELY! Quote
pontalba Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Chocolate? Did I hear the Magic Word?? Yes, Cadbury's is good, I like the plain milk chocolate bars, with a nice glass of cold, black, strong coffee to wash it down. Milky Ways are fine too though. And I've had the orange chocolate....yum. Think I'll go and get a milky way right now. Quote
Sofia Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I just made chocolate brownies...does that count? Quote
Sarahrob Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 mmmmm... love chocolate so much. My absolute faves are Mozartkugeln, but I will settle for Lindors. Actually I will settle for Scotbloc if I can't get anything else, so long as it tastes vaguely chocolatey. I've found a chocolatier close to where I live who is making all kinds of wonderful creations. Last Saturday I bought a bag of mixed truffles and they were delish - Mango and Chilli, autumn fruits, fig and pear... I'm drooling just thinking about them! Quote
Kristen Painter Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Whenever DH and I are in England, I stock up on Aero bars. Love those things. Haven't tried snaps or swoops - I have enough food addictions to deal with as it is. Quote
Sugar Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I've found recently that I haven't fancied chocolate as much - it could be because of the summer? You can't beat a proper 99 with Cadbury Flake from the Icecream man though! Oh - and Marks and Sparks do some fantastic belgian chocolate coated dried fruit things.... Quote
Galactic Space Hamster Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Like Chocolate? Try Cyber Candy You can get great and exotic UK chocolates but their main business is chocolate from all around the world. You can get American, Chinese, Japanese, South African, Australian, and Canadian. Not just chocolate, they do other products too. Great store... stay away if you are on a diet ;-) All the choc you can handle and then some! Quote
Sarahrob Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Whenever DH and I are in England, I stock up on Aero bars. Love those things. They do little balls of mint aero now as well. Gorgeous! Quote
