Just saw it yesterday for the first time. What a good show. And Idris Elba.....
  2. Wimbledon - lovely to see two Polish girls playing....doesn't really matter who wins! So happy for Radwanska! The first Pole in Wimbledon finals since 1937!
  3. Sinead O'Connor - The Wolf is Getting Married. Good to see her back in shape :-)
  4. The Kills from Open'er Festival live on Youtube!
  5. I love Allen so I won't be very objective here. I believe I have seen all the movies he made maybe except last two or three....I don't realy like the "new" Allen. Manhattan Murder Mystery, Husbands and Wives, Crimes and Misdemeanors are my favourite titles. Allen has it's own " flavour" as I call it and once you taste you either love it or will never try again.I love Allen the actor too, so any film he starred in is a treat. He is also quite a skilled musician...I saw him play live and it was very enjoyable. And of course his books....have you read any? Fellini? Definitely La Dolce Vita with amazing Anita Ekberg taking a splash in di Trevi. and I would recommend La Strada with Gulietta Masina.....what a performance!
  6. The book is very good and different from the film. Much better too I must say :-)
  7. It's been my number one book since I read it for the first time about 25 years ago...and I have read it around 25 times so far. I get highly emotional when I talk about it so let me just say it's brilliant and worth your time. Give it a chance!
  8. Wuthering Heights Grapes of Wrath Master and Margarita
  9. Got myself the first part...going to start reading tomorrow!
  10. The World's Fastest Indian is indeed an amazing film. It was the first time I really appreciated Anthony Hopkins. I watched it few years back when I was down and it instantly made me feel better and believe that it is never too late to follow your dreams.... The book was much better. I did not like the film much and Pattinson was just a wrong choice. His Polish was terrible too Off to watch Vicar of Dibley now. I need my daily dose of some British humour....
  11. I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced, but they Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee; A poet could not be but gay, In such a jocund company! I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils
  12. Light in August by William Faulkner. The books belonged to my mother. I tried reading it as a teeneager but never succeded. Tried again years later...another fail. Tried last year - epic fail
