  1. I really don't like Ygritte, to be honest! She irritates me for some reason, no idea why exactly. Arya and Jaqen scenes are my favourite this season, I just love Tom Wlaschiha in his role. I'm glad we get to see Arya quite often, especially compared to Sansa. She doesn't seem to be getting much screentime lately, does she? Not that I miss her arc too much.
  2. Checking out syfy's Alice... seems nice so far!
  3. Couldn't agree more, OUAT totally overwrote everything Disney & co. for me! Same goes for Red's story... I love the dark twists the creators use to give the eps some boost.
  4. My first Jodi Picoult book was Nineteen Minutes, as well! I found the story quite interesting, but disturbing, of course. It definitely wasn't an easy read, 'realistic' might describe it better... sadly. I wish they would make this an obligatory read at schools, as a way to promote tolerance, for one. As for The Pact, I left off around the middle and I haven't touched it for years now, not quite sure why. I guess I'm still waiting for my Picoult-mood to kick in again...
  5. As someone who intends to work in publishing (someday - hopefully), I found this interview really useful and interesting! There are so many job titles in this area, as well, that sometimes it just gets a tad confusing for me... even after Googling it, most of the time an article isn't enough to make it clear what the position comes with. On the other hand, interviews are a lot more straight to the point, I think. Can't wait to read the upcoming ones.
  6. Thank you, what a warm welcome! Hi Easy Reader! I normally make myself simple clothes (and get the patterns from magazines like Burda) or sew toys, plushies. I'm still at the second book, and having a hard time catching up with the whole series because of my finals, so I'm fine with the currently released 5 books, to be honest. But I can't wait to see how the game will 'end'! And thanks!
  7. I prefer paperbacks, because they are lighter and cheaper - I find them to be overall more practical. They might get damaged quite easily, but this makes our "bond" stronger somehow, if this makes any sense. As for the smell of books, I love that, too! There's something really special about them, whether they are old or new. eBooks are not exactly my thing, but I read them faster than 'normal' books, which is handy... I wouldn't give up on the 3D versions, though!
  8. I always read more books at once. For example, I have a 'commute book' I take with me whenever I go out, then I have at least one book I only read at home, and finally there are the obligatory stuff I need to check out for my German Literature class. This way my reading pace becomes quite slow, but I never get mixed up with the stories, whatsoever.
  9. I finished watching the first season last week and I really loved it! My favourite episode was the one with the Mad Hatter in it (I'm a big Alice in Wonderland-fan actually.) His quotes/lines were simply fantastic, along with his background story. It's also nice how the creators didn't want to make everyone look black & white (like in the original tales, I guess?), so I could feel sorry for Rumplestilskin and sometimes even for The Evil Queen - or at least understand them and their messed up actions. Same goes for the seemingly good/innocent characters! They appeared a lot more real with their flaws and various problems.
  10. Hi everyone, I just joined yesterday and thought it would be nice to introduce myself. I'm from Hungary, pretty much a bookworm like everyone else here, I assume. Fantasy/medieval books are my favourite, but I enjoy reading almost every genre, depending on my mood. My other hobbies include gaming, sewing and volunteering. I'm currently engulfed in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series - does anyone love it, as well? (: Well, I can't wait to join the discussions going on & to 'meet' lovely people here!
